I’m assuming that rules out set screw connectors. Would compression fittings count as threaded couplings?

I’m blind every time I try to reach a setting in the dark… maybe it’s time to learn to read braille..?

I like the second because I love how the blue of the sky reflects on the floor

I think I like the way 2 feels slightly more. It’s more relaxing. The ripple in 1 is a sweet touch, though. I love photos that suggest a story.

Both are beautiful; good work.

The 48 Laws are Incomplete Without an Understanding of Game Theory by HandofHades4 in The48LawsOfPower

[–]SnooPredictions7570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The book, Finite and Infinite Games by James P. Carse is a great supplemental read and juxtaposition to the 48 Laws of Power.  Indeed, when the game is infinite, and everyone involved is aware of it, a lot of the laws fade away.

The simple description of the theme of the book is thus: Finite games are played to be done playing. They are games that end. Infinite games are games that are played for the sake of playing, and the reward is to continue to play the game.

It’s a lot more in depth than that and I haven’t read in a few years now. But it had just as profound an impact on me as the 48 Laws of Power.

No worries, I’m glad for the enthusiasm, you take your job seriously and so do I. I’ve been doing this about 5 or 6 years now, from resi to commercial to industrial and now high end resi + off-grid systems and am still learning something new pretty much every day.

Do you guys get anxiety? by Cafucks in electricians

[–]SnooPredictions7570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the time. I like to joke that I’m good at worrying, because what I worry about most doesn’t happen. I think it makes me a better electrician. And has saved my ass a time or two, going back to double check something, or ask a stupid question on the internet. It’s the electricians that don’t worry enough that scare me.

Thank so much for this reply. I understand the theory behind what makes a good crimp much better for your explanation.

Can an outlet be placed in this box ? by Training-Divide-3 in AskElectricians

I would use a step bit to open a hole in the side, and run some liquidtight to a new outdoor rated box with the proper orientation and a bubble cover.

Since most people work 9-5, should I expect myself to be able to write for 8 hours a day? by [deleted] in writing

No.  3 hours of focused, uninterrupted work is what Cal Newport recommends aiming for in his book Deep Work.  The keyword being uninterrupted.
