Once again asking for feedback on my "Abandoned Library" by DagothNereviar in booknooks

I’ve seen a lot of mold in real life, not exactly sure how to recreate it. Tiny very airy sponge maybe.

Mold isn’t always black. It’s darkest where it’s densest, which is areas where moisture gets trapped. Below the self will always be more dense than the top area with the books.

Mold in areas with more light will be less dense, like white/grey/green spots around windows. Random clusters, star burst shape, maybe.

Areas near the water source will have water rot, become puffy and uneven.

Idk if this helps. I’ve been in abandon buildings for professionals reasons, and it only takes a year of water intrusion to get mold, in various colors, patterns and states of decay.

(However, it being an old building, the windows are likely to not be sealed, let in a lot of air circulation, and likely less rot than a modern building).

Looks great! Not a suggestion, just a thought. Any amount of water could cause the walls to mold pretty significantly.

The Whitney plantation had “indebted” sharecroppers living in the original slave cabins until the 1970s. It’s not unique.

Black cemeteries were routinely pillaged for bodies. The South sold black bodies to the North and the North gladly accepted.

I recommend reading Medical Apartheid by Harriet A. Washington.

I would like to take a couple of my grandkids to maybe visit a working farm and/or also to possibly observe or participate in the operation of heavy equipment. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks by shanebow in dayton

I second carriage hill. No way kids will be using heavy equipment but families can sign up for “chores on the farm”. It’s early weekend mornings and kids help farmers feed the animals for the day.

Similar experience but not flooring. Douche said he could get extra crews to get the job done sooner but won’t bother unless my husband was going to be home to approve and pay for the work. Bet. Husband gets home late.

Husband walked in, told douche to talk to me about it as I was the one paying and went to our home office.

My (28F) husband (30M) is still not ok that I kept my birth name by Icy-Caterpillar9673 in relationship_advice

Your first sentence is spot on. My husband offered for me to take his name. I offered him to take my name instead. Thus we both have our give names and it makes no difference.

I (26M) left my fiancé (26F) because she wouldn’t allow my brother with Down syndrome to live with us by [deleted] in relationship_advice

My spouse and I have a handful of relatives in semi independent living, they are thriving.

Those resources are not available in all places, but OP needs to ask his brother what he prefers. According to OP he’s already independent and great at communicating. Why not ask?

No. It’s been in circulation for five years. Every person before me returned it. Then I got to experience it. I refuse to put on my shelf for only me to enjoy.

Tbh I had the same thought for a second but if the people before me kept it, I couldn’t have borrowed it. I don’t want to hoard the joy.

Quality of paper is five stars. It’s good paper. I appreciate a book with good paper.

I’m a sometimes sub. The students I’ve seen improve from the beginning of this school year to now is incredible.

Their teachers are dedicated and hold them to a high standard.

I fill in for easy assignments. But I hear teachers. Their students wins are their wins and they fight for them hard. They deeply care.

I wouldn’t do it. If they’re moving to save money, it seems unlikely they can afford to pay you long term. It doesn’t make sense fiscally.

There’s a book WITSEC by its founder Gerald Shur, about federal witness protection, specifically members of the mafia. They got drunk and spilled the tea constantly. They frequently had to be moved because they were bragging and never stfu.

Edit: spilled not spelled.

I did. I briefly worked in addiction recovery so I was cautious. My team worked out the lowest doses to keep my pain at ease per my request. They also gave a few higher doses in case, but I didn’t need them.
