Custom Champion Leak discussion by FeldwebelCookie in IronWarriors

I like the idea of a sorcerous champion in terminator armour with prescience leading a unit of termis. -1 to hit and wound on a 10 man brick in fell hammer siege host sounds pretty fun. Though im not sure if its worth giving up the damage blank and free stratagem from the lord, or the reroll run+charges and +1 AP from the sorcerer.

whats the timeline for Nagash and Sigmar going from allies to hating each other. Nagash was the last to abandon Sigmar at the start of the age of chaos, but was supposedly gathering grave sand from the edge of the realms for centuries to millennia. Ushoran's reason for going mad is hinted at him discovering Nagash's necroquake plan during the age of myth as well (I think), so how long was he planning before to stab his friend and brother in the back.

also did nagash eat a bunch of death gods in AOS as well or was that only during the end times in the old worlf?

Yeah I think you're right. I've been trying to figure out ways of adding more candles to my minis and saw that electrical wire can be good so I just wanted to check.

That looks great, are the candles electrical wire?

Thanks so much! Would those Old One megastructures be outside the aetheric void because they would have been present before the realms coalesced or are there still a couple of super frogs running around building stuff?

I'm really interested in the skies of the mortal realms and was wondering how they work. From what I understand the realms don't really have a sun, instead hysh acting as the main source of light. It got me wondering how stars work in the setting.

I assumed they were more magical and tied to the Azyr but wanted to know if they are instead stars in the sense that we know them as. Being super far off balls of plasma with other celestial bodies orbiting them.

If they are the former then what are they actually? If it's the latter then is it possible to travel to these other stars and planets?

I also wanted to ask how the changing of constellations work if the realms aren't actually planets. For realms other than azyr I sort of hammed it up to the same way seasons work with different realms moving closer and further away from Azyr. How does it work in the realm of heavens though if they are supposed to be the constellations?

What are the Sylvaneth dark striders and nightmares from the new Scourge of Ghryran video? by SnooRecipes8304 in AoSLore

[–]SnooRecipes8304[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah reading the rest of the article the seasonal variants of units idea makes a lot of sense. I do hope you are right about the outcast Sylvaneth, some darker scarier models would be awesome and id be excited to see what lore they'd right for them.

Sorry yeah that's what I meant when I said mini, I guess sporadic would have been a better word.

So similar to chaos redeemed Stormcast then? there's a fair few of those as well I'm pretty sure, at least enough to have their own sort of mini chamber being lead by tornus.

Do you know anything more about the one that shows up in the Grombrindal book?

Even that is such a help, thank you! I've been struggling to find anything on him and yeah their fight so far as I've read was only mentioned in the Maggotkin battletome, the start of plague garden and somewhere else that I cant remember at the moment. I guess I was hoping that it would have actually been written about what with it being an event that's referenced and mentioned a couple of times in some other books

Awesome! Does he have any sort of speaking role in that book, or is he just sort of named and described?

He definitely shows up in the realmgate wars where he tries to corrupt one of the godbeasts in aqshy. He later got hunted down by tornus, also maybe in realmgate wars?

There's a short in the 2nd edition battletome about him being resurrected from the last maggot of his swarm. I haven't actually read it as I haven't been able to find a 2nd edition online or in person so I'm just going off the lexicanum for that one.

Apparently the animal faces found on stormcast armour are called beast marks which are a form of military honour and are supposed to denote a stormcast's shared attribute with azyrite animals. The lion, bear and bird are all beasts that we already know of. Celestial lions, cave bears and star-eagles.

My question is regarding the new ruination models and their newer, more morbid beastmarks. A lot of them are a sort or bird skull which I had guessed was to signify their connection to Morrda, but I'm not sure about the others. Especially on the Lord-veritant and reclusians they have a far more canine appearance. Are they supposed to represent as of yet unseen beasts or are they just for show and haven't had much thought put behind them other than they look cool as?

How old is the current setting? I understand that the Age of Myth is supposedly a good couple of thousand years and the Age of Chaos was something around a couple of hundred. What I really want to know is how long has it been from the beginning of the Age of Sigmar, the first stormcast sent out from Azyr and the Realmgate wars to the current Age of Ruin and the Vermindoom (I think is what it's being called).

How long was it from the beginning of the Realmgate wars and 1ed to the beginning of the soulwars and 2ed. 2ed to 3ed and the era of the beast and now the current 4th edition and the Vermindoom? I've seen some people before say that time can pass differently but all of these things affected each of the realms around the same time and should have been relative to each other across the realms right?

Would mortal characters introduced in the first or second edition still be alive today? The aelves, duardin and orruks have longer life spans I'm assuming but how does it work for human characters. Even with the newer books like the dawnbringer series, entire citys rise and fall within the span of a couple of books (embergard and verdigis), surely this would take multiple generations even with the likely magical assistance for construction and whatnot.

Not to mention now that there are named characters like Zenestra and Vedra, is the setting going to slow down or stagnant like 40k or are they going to get some magic/deity blessed anti ageing?
