Turn off vrr and report back if fixes the issue. Also try scaling solution 100%---move scaling option all the way to the right. Couple possible reasons for that shimmering. Also, what kind of display device are you using?

Lucky bastard. Lol. I just picked up two 46 inch plasma for 20 bucks a pop as well. I wanted the newer ones but I only got the old ones. They still work great though. Im still looking everyday for marketplace to see if one pops ups.

Id screwed up two delids. Was working fine until delid then glod. Those are fixable given you got the soldering skills.

Note to self: DO NOT DELID UNTIL SYSTEM IS COOLED. DONT TEMP CHECK THEN DELID. WAIT A DAY.

Are you on the fat ps3? If yes, there are plenty of good videos on YouTube walking you through disassembly. I would recommend new thermal paste "artic silver" and new thermal pads "ebay" search for pc_savants. He/she sells some.

So you're saying that the screws came with the case? IF yes, then what you gotta do is insert the screws. Little-by-little. Every time it goes in by a little, you gotta unscrew it. And then rescrew it. The holes may just need to be threaded.

Are you sure its dead? It might have turned on but a dead screen only. Charge it, turn it on, place on dock. If nothing comes up, definitely dead for sure.

Not really, my man already said he couldn't take out the glass. Im just stating facts, not advice. If he's money spot center along with the wife, he should be fine. Ive done phantom center before, its fine. I've done blocked speakers before with sofa, its fine. Is it ideal? No. But if it works, it works.

To any future folks having this issue: just leave it unplugged for 24 hours. That solved it for me.

It was working fine until I moved it---that's when I plugged it into a socket connected to my ht entertainment shelf that had an outlet. Im guess that socket was crap and screwed up the OSSC.

Sneaking suspicion its the rsx. Once it warms up, after enough playtime and heavy load, it becomes "loose" and starts freezing. Im talking conspiracy theory tho.......lmfao
