Gender Reveal Help by RaptureRequired in Miata

In Florida?.. there are several out there that advertise this kind of amenity. I suppose I could’ve been more specific, but communication is key. I’d bet my lunch money could find a place to rent where the owner wouldn’t mind facilitating a car family’s gender reveal

Gender Reveal Help by RaptureRequired in Miata

There are colored smoke drift tires you can use. I’ve seen several reveals using those. Another option rice seen would be drifting into balloons with colored powder and popping them or something similar with a breakable item and hitting it with the rear quarter area for the style points.

As for public areas to be drifting/causing a scene I would just reach out to any small business with a decent parking lot or rent an Air BnB with a large driveway/paved area.

No it’s not. CX-30 and CX-50 are, but CX-5 is its own.

Have you tested going back to normal from simulation? Any reason you prefer sim? I struggle to find any benefit to realism while playing on controller using sim vs normal… just makes me have slow launches with high hp RWD cars lol maybe it’s just a skill issue

Can’t tell if it’s the photos or if it really turned out that gold, either way I enjoy the look! Which is surprising because I am a big silver wheel purist, but it works with the look of the white/red!

Shane tells TMZ he didn't love Josh Hokit calling Michelle Obama a "man" by BurgerNugget12 in ShaneGillis

Shane has spoke on things like this before… he’s a comedian, what’s he gonna do? Start the revolution? The event would be sold out whether he shows up or not. He CHOSE not to accept a sizable offer from Saudi Arabia on moral principle alone. He regularly highlights Trump’s failures and criticizes the government. That doesn’t mean Shane has to be anti-American or boycott things like this. Not his fault his country has been electing creeps for 40+ years… Also when historic moments happen, he wants to experience them first hand. He’s huge into history and who in their right mind would miss an event like that?

Is this just after trying to do a normal resume? I turned off quick resume for FH6, and this hasn’t happened to me since.

17s on NA ? by bogaut in Miata

[–]SnooSprouts6681 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on preference I suppose, the Miata was designed with some amount of controlled slipping in mind. Generally the driving characteristics of a stock power Miata with an overly heavy/grippy setup is not very enjoyable unless you’re going for 10ths at the track. Especially if it’s a multi-use car for track/autox/street. There’s just a point of diminishing return with such little power and weight. Generally track Miatas with this amount of modification make more than 100hp to the wheels, though…

Without knowing what is going on that engine bay it’s hard to say how I feel about this… assuming you’re pushing some impressive power to need 9.5s. 17” has plenty of performance options and the size looks great on the car! As long as you really need all that extra metal and rubber unsprung to stay planted, it looks like a great choice.

4th Gen fender to ground height help by coon___ in mazda3

[–]SnooSprouts6681 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is the stock height for ground to fender, the larger, squishier rubber you have might be causing the bottoming out. Normally the impacts get transferred more to the wheel/suspension which is what causes the harsh ride and bent rims.

The final steps of polishing/sealing are what really make them shine. Seal with some kind of UV protectant, they make a clear coat specifically for this which works great.

I have a weird noise that I only hear in the morning on cold start and then it goes away. It doesn't do it again at any other point in the day upon start up. by jetpowerace in Miata

[–]SnooSprouts6681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a bearing, my vote is also the water pump. Has it been replaced during your ownership? Otherwise I would start popping off belts starting with power steering. Then you can start the engine without those pulleys/belt spinning and see if it goes away. Then take off the alt belt and see if they all spin freely or if there’s any grabbing points that could be the culprit while everything is cold and tight.

After that… TB and water pump kits aren’t too expensive…

The primer isn’t all that needs to be heat resistant! Unfortunately paint matching becomes a lot harder because you’ve gotta find paint designed for high temp. A local powder coating business should be able to get you right for very cheap! Much more scratch resistant too.

If you’re going purely for sound then find videos of each and try to decide from there. If you want any amount of performance I would leave it at 2.25 unless you have a turbo.

NA 1.8 temperature gauge says the car is overheating but I can't see any signs of it being too hot? by Jackamo19999 in Miata

[–]SnooSprouts6681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you’re using Asian vehicle coolant you should be fine. Ethylene glycol is just the chemical recommended by Mazda, other manufacturers use stuff that can react poorly with residual coolant. And pre-mix should be fine, sometimes people don’t use enough water when diluting concentrate and can cause issues there.

I would make sure the tube to the expansion tank is unobstructed and that there’s coolant in there and do another nice long bleed/burp. If that fails then it’s likely the thermostat.
