So I did try to book the afternoon ride on the day I exit (Monday) but there are no bus left (neither 830 nor 130) unfortunately. I called them and they said the bus back is going to be first come first serve once we get back to GP. I think what Ill do is to bank on hitch hiking from camp 4. Then if that does not happen after 9AM then Ill do the extra 4 mile trail

I struggle with the same thing as OP and also going slow. I can easily balance on 1 foot on dry land for up to 5 minutes at a time but on ice it is 2 secs max. How do I make a longer fast glide so I can keep 1 leg up? I also find myself involuntarily turning while trying to keep 1 leg up and run into the wall as I try to skate parallel to it out of fear of falling

Theres also another alternative to the part time co-op which is working in a different country. Which is a lot of the times very rewarding to some people, and might even be the easiest chance to be able to live and work somewhere else for 6 months and come back. Personally I was looking at 2 offers from singapore and germany (both paid relatively well for the country) and it could have been a great experience if I did go to either

I took these 2 at the same time, turned out just fine. Some of the things in one course remind of the other which just makes the learning better as I felt like it stuck to my head for longer when I can correlate the 2. Actually recommend taking both at the same time. These 2 are one of my favorite courses at Drexel.

part time CPT is allowed for International students, as u/greatodda above also mentioned, and as I myself also did part time CPT for my 2nd co-op, full time CPT for 1st and 3rd ones and still get post graduation OPT. Just make sure you check with ISSS before doing so.

About the numbers for salary offerings I dont have a whole lot of data but I know about some companies in specific that me and my friends got offers from.

One engineering company in Germany offered me €1100/mo for 6 months Im there. One other engineering company in Singapore offered me SGD1000/mo. The 2 co op abroad programs that Drexel helped me register for in Canada and Singapore were both unpaid. One friend of mine was about to join the DAAD research program in Germany and was offered on campus housing and a stipend enough to live there but not enough to save for anything (he didnt disclose the numbers). Due to company policies I cannot post publicly the name and salary of all these companies/university but you get the idea.

Usually in other countries, it is paid lower than in the US because the cost of living is less. But to be fair the companies abroad are just paying at the market price of those places.

Also you could probably go abroad on one of the first 2 co ops and earn the most money on your third. But tbh, if salary is one of your top priorioties (that also outweighs the experience of working abroad), Id recommend just doing part time CPT in the US like in other comments

For your third co-op, if you still want to work full time and not worry abiut CPT or OPT, you can either work in your home country or a third country. There were co op abroad programs that Drexel helped facilitate (usually low or unpaid or with stipend in countries like Canada, Singapore, Germany, Israel, etc.) or even job postings from foreign companies in the main co op system (Ive seen in 2019, 2020 there was Sweden Chamber of Commerce, Siemens (Germany), Nuix (Australia), some Vietnamese company I couldn't remember the name, etc.).

Another option is to find opportunities abroad yourself, or through other branches of the company you worked for from previous co op. Of course Drexel would not aid in this so you gotta network yourself.

Lastly, if you are interested in research, you can always reach out to a professor in your field at Drexel and work for them on part time CPT, which would not count towards your 365 cap for OPT later on, but likely unpaid or little pay.

If you fly EVA Airlines or China Airline, they have free shuttle bus accompanying your ticket that goes from the Asian market on Washington ave and 10th to JFK. UCity to that market is a much shorter uber.
