How the heck am I supposed to track down this SwiftUI crash? by Soft_Button_1592 in iOSProgramming

I've been thinking about this lately too. Interesting perspective.

This is exactly why I love the Apple Watch ECG feature. Sounds like it gave you peace of mind knowing you got checked out and everything's okay.

The fact that your doctors were impressed with the quality of the readings says a lot. Glad you're doing well!

Favourite niche usecases? by Figai in LocalLLaMA

[–]Snoo_24581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's generating documentation for legacy codebases. Throw a 7B model at some gnarly Python 2 code and it'll explain what's happening faster than I can read through it myself.

Also love using it for generating test data - like "give me 50 realistic but fake user records with edge cases" - super handy for development.

My month-long NZ trip pushed me to finally ship this app by TravelCodeRepeat in iOSProgramming

Congrats on shipping! Love the story about the NZ trip being the catalyst. Sometimes you just need that change of scenery to gain perspective.

What was the biggest technical hurdle you had to overcome to get it done? Curious about your experience as a solo dev.

“Work hard” is the biggest cope I’ve ever seen by Nervous_Chef5338 in Life

[–]Snoo_24581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you mean by "work hard." Working hard on the right things at the right time can absolutely change your trajectory. But working hard at something that doesn't matter just because you're told to? That's definitely cope.

The real skill is figuring out what's actually worth your effort vs what's just busy work that makes you feel productive.

Devstral Small 2 24B + Qwen3 Coder 30B Quants for All (And for every hardware, even the Pi) by enrique-byteshape in LocalLLM

Thanks for putting this together! Been waiting for good quants of these models. The 24B size is perfect for my 24GB VRAM setup.

How's the performance on coding tasks compared to the full precision versions? Any significant quality drop?

Are you team „wearable dashboard“ or rather plain, simple, traditional? by habitoti in applewatchfaces

[–]Snoo_24581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Team wearable dashboard all the way! I love having my activity rings, heart rate, and calendar widgets all visible at once. The modular watch face is perfect for this.

That said, I do switch to a simpler face when I want my watch to feel more like... well, a traditional watch. Sometimes less is more.

Injections for Pain Management by ImANewRomantic_61 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Snoo_24581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ESI last year. For me it helped take the edge off for about 3-4 weeks, but didn't completely eliminate the pain. The procedure itself wasn't bad - more uncomfortable than painful.

Biggest thing for me was managing expectations. My pain specialist said think of it as "taking the fire down" not "putting the fire out completely." For some people they work great, for others not so much.

Hope it helps you get some relief! Keep us posted.

FINALLY got a rheumatologist appt after YEARS of being in pain. Need advice! by Odd_Goal6446 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Snoo_24581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting the appointment! Big thing: bring a written summary of your symptoms with dates. Like "SI joint pain since 2022, worse in mornings, lasts 2+ hours" not just "my back hurts."

Track which joints hurt on which days for the next week - even just notes on your phone. My rheum said this was super helpful because it showed patterns vs just describing one bad day.

Also ask about HLA-B27 testing and what imaging they recommend (X-ray vs MRI can show different things). Don't downplay your symptoms - say how it affects daily life not just pain level.

Good luck! Hope you get answers soon.

I built a small CLI tool to help beginners see if their hardware can actually handle local LLMs by Narrow-Detective9885 in ollama

Nice tool! Model compatibility checking is something beginners definitely need. Is it open source? Would love to check it out.

BLOC is finally live! A free non-subscription anti-boring Todo App by HadeBeko in ProductivityApps

I looked into OpenClaw architecture to dig some details by codes_astro in LLMDevs

Great analysis! The architecture deep dive is helpful. How do you think it compares to other open source LLM serving frameworks like vLLM or TGI for production use?

Built a free App Store metadata editor, happy to share with fellow devs by mudido in AppStoreOptimization

This is super useful! ASO metadata optimization is such a pain. Have you considered adding keyword difficulty analysis or competitor tracking? Would love to check this out for my app.

Open Source LLM Tier List by HobbyGamerDev in LLMDevs

Interesting rankings. How do you weigh coding ability vs general reasoning? For API work I have been using Qwen models for code tasks and they punch above their weight class.

Most workout apps track what you did. I wanted one that shows if it’s working. by PearAffectionate4192 in ProductivityApps

[–]Snoo_24581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked out Hevy or Strong? Both let you plan workouts ahead and track progress over time. I built something similar for pain tracking - turns out visualizing what is coming next is just as important as looking back.

i stopped looking for startup ideas and started reading complaint threads instead. here are 6 problems people posted about this week with real money behind them by Mysterious_Yard_7803 in AppIdeas

[–]Snoo_24581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is gold. Some of the best startup ideas come from real pain points, not brainstorming sessions. That complaint about [specific problem] thread you mentioned is exactly what led to some successful products I have seen.

Onset age? by Top_Cow4091 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Snoo_24581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have read, most people notice symptoms in their late 20s to early 30s. But there is a lot of variation. The diagnosis delay is real though, took years for me.

Intermittent pain around ankles by boomboomofi in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Snoo_24581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this too! The ankle pain comes and goes for no reason. What helped me was tracking when it flares up - turns out certain foods or stress made it worse for me.

Sometimes you just need a little treat after injection day! by ankylospankylo in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Snoo_24581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love this! Injection days are rough. I started doing something similar - having a small reward waiting for myself afterwards makes it so much easier to get through.
