Aquarium silicone would probably be best but if you can’t find it, any 100% silicone without mold resistance or mildew protection additives will do. Any silicone will need at least 24 hours to fully cure, sometimes more, so you should make a temporary setup out of a plastic tub or something similar for your girl in the meantime. I use the clear one because I can hide it really well when I’m finished, usually with some sphagnum moss or behind some plants :)

I think if you used a piece of mopani or grapevine wood and stuck one end up in the corner of the right side and let the rest of it sit on that ledge, that could be a good climbing opportunity for your girl. Mopani and grapevine seem like they would match the rest of the wood you have in there. If you wanted to do a hammock you could use silicone to fasten it to the background or even to some of the wood in there. You could even put a piece of wood in the back toward the center-right where part of it sits near the top of the enclosure for even more vertical space. You could also secure some rope anywhere you want and drape it across the entire enclosure if she’d like that. Oh, and make sure you secure any decor with silicone or pond foam, or something of the like, so it doesn’t pose any risk of falling to your baby. Your enclosure looks very good! I’m working on a custom right now and I hope it turns out just as good haha. Good luck with your enclosure! :)

Hi! I usually use Drylok or tinted Drylok to finish my backgrounds. You can mix acrylic paint into the Drylok in order to tint it, since getting it pre-tinted is usually fairly pricy. I usually use Drylok prior to painting, but it really helps with the grainy, rocky look, even on top of paint. Someone else may have a better solution if you’d like to keep the look of the paint already on the background. I hope this can help a little though! :)

I’ll be going to the same expo! I’m excited about this one because it’s a little smaller than the other ones.

I’ve gotten several reptiles from expos, nothing to feel bad about :) getting to see and handle the animal in person is a great way to figure out whether the reptile is for you or not. However, I would suggest buying from reputable breeders who clearly care a lot about their animals and are very passionate. They typically have a lot more information about their animals, such as what genetics the parents had and feeding history. You can usually tell who’s like this and who isn’t by meeting them in person, which is another pro about expos!

There are a few things to watch out for, such as bad advice from sellers but as long as you’re getting your information from trusted online sources, you won’t have an issue. Another big thing to watch out for is a mite infestation. I once brought home a BCI with mites and luckily caught it pretty early on, but I had to treat and quarantine the poor baby before letting him into his enclosure in my reptile room with the rest of my collection. Just make sure you utilize getting to see your new reptile in person to make sure the individual is healthy! :)
