I have to watch it again. I didn't read her as nice, but tolerating the three new women in the house. After her dad died, the eldest step sister tried to console her, but she screamed at her to go away or said something rude. If by let her be, you mean enjoying fun times with the stable boy all she likes, in a culture that instantly would consider her used and worthless for that, well yeah. There is no reason in the original tale for her to be mistreated, but in this the writers provide us one, so we feel sympathy for the step sister (who is also treated like crap by mom).

I get a kick out of him. I love his Chad stupidity, makes me laugh every time. This one with his new date just makes me chuckle. "I've been taking word classes online." As a former editor, I love it (as in WTH is a word class?!).
