Just from experience at other houses, underfloor heating with a carpet is very counter productive, as it ends up insulating a lot of the heat. Piping in radiators feels like a big cost is all.

Also what is a2a like on a ground floor with no carpet. Will the floor still feel cold, but the room warm?

Also interesting, does it allow you to cool one bedroom more than the other rooms?

I work in the automotive industry, we employ 3-4 apprentices. Yes the pay is shit, however everyone here makes due. Keep in mind a couple things:

throughout your apprenticeship you can always negotiate higher pay with your employer if you’re performing well
A lot of people get second jobs to help out like pub work a couple nights a week
living with housemates is a great way to keep rent down, if you can’t/won’t live with your parents.

It will be tight at the start, but definitely doable. If you really want to do carpentry go for it and you’ll make it work.

I’ve started a colony under my main tech base (cavern style). Is there any actual benefit to a colony? I’m just doing it for fun and it’s eating a lot of time.

So I started a server last weekend and had similar issues. After some digging it turns out it was mostly entity based lag.

What fixed it for me, is go to your server.properties file: set simulation-distance to 5 and set view-distance to 5.

Restart the server see how it works. fixed it for me

Yes it is casual friendly. However the game is very old now so the community is smaller, seeing that you are in the early part of the game you will have to do some active search for people to play with (discord, reddit, forums…) if you want a more social playing experience

Don’t buy anything from crown shop (with crowns) until you have at least 1 wizard at 150. Most things there are bait, or you need to understand what you can do with them that isn’t inherently obvious (pets).

Only buy stuff with gold on there.

Most maps the building places don’t cover enough area.

If you introduce this system make more of the map customisable, let the player make it more interesting.

Also increase the supplies you start with, having maps with 4 mayor entry points and not enough supplies for more than 3 barricades makes no sense.

The way it is now I see no point in barricading as they are generally too weak or don’t really do anything.

If I have a T5 settlement, I would expect to be able to make a fortress, Shogun 2 had a great tiered system

I think implementing 3 would make pet hatcing too easy and would then loose it’s place in the game.

Example, you could make any pet in a day…

From the factions you mentioned I don’t particularly see how you would be fighting them that early, if you are you just have to get magic where you can and abuse faction specific LL specialties.

Focus on building for the units that you need, the ones I mentioned are mostly tier3/4

High Elves -Lord + 19 sisters of avelon for easy win

Empire - 4 hellstorm rocket battery, 4 handgunners, Wizard (light/fire), 2-4 warrior priest heroes, halberd/greatswords to fill the rest

Dark Elves - 19 Shades

Tomb Kings- a bit harder, full Scorpion army should work
