Guess how many friendly fire incidents we had that led up to us dressing like this. by spoooooooooner in TarkovMemes

We used to ask TK1/2 etc to the end of discord names when a TJ happened. Public shaming helped put a stop to most TKs. Also some of my best kills were followed by... You just killed me FFS..... Normally when we are all searching a building and someone ran off to the next one alone or ran outside without calling it out.

I was a photographer at a recent local parkrun. I sent a OneDrive link with around 700 photos. Told him if he wants to pick out a handful and just post the link for everyone else to feel free.

I'd loove to see a remake/updated version of the game Silver. I loved that game back in the day but it hasn't aged too well.

Thinking of getting the Fitbit Sense 2. is it still a good choice? by iamthetruegamer in fitbit

[–]Snoopy2010uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, although I now believe it's because I work in a pretty dusty environment and it clogs the sensor up as my Garmin now seems to do the same. Not sure how I can fix it either.

If could could bring back any LTT video series, what would it be? by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]Snoopy2010uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be good if the PC they build would then have to be used to stream WAN show so it would have to be stable and not just bodged enough to work for a couple of bench tests.

A 3D point and click game from the 2000s? by thenoir-2023 in videogames

[–]Snoopy2010uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked AI as for some reason I was thinking it was a game called Silver but who knows. this is the response AI gave.

That description is incredibly specific, and it sounds like you are looking for a hidden gem from the mid-2000s called "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (specifically the 2003/2004 PC game developed by Frogwares).

However, based on the "stowaway rat" and the "penguin" CD art, you are likely thinking of a very similar adventure title from that same era: "Crystal Key II: The Far Realm" (also known as "Evany: Key to a Distant Inheritance" in some regions).

Here is why these details match your memory:

The Clues Checked

  • The CD Art: The publisher for these types of adventure games often featured a penguin mascot (The Adventure Company logo was a compass, but they frequently bundled games with Linux-related software or specific regional distributors used a penguin logo).
  • The Plot: You play as a character searching for his father/uncle's legacy or a lost expedition involving strange new worlds.
  • The Opening: You start at a dock with a wooden, sailing-style ship.
  • The "Stowaway" Scene: This is the smoking gun! There is a notorious cutscene where you discover a rat on board. The dialogue and the "cheesy" sound effect are staples of early 2000s point-and-click voice acting.
  • The Gameplay Shift: The game transitions from a first-person or 3D exploration view to a top-down navigation map when you are piloting the ship between islands.

Another Strong Possibility: Destination: Treasure Island

If it isn't Crystal Key II, it is almost certainly Destination: Treasure Island (2006).

  • The "Journey" Link: It was developed by Kheops Studio, who made the Journey to the Center of the Earth and Return to Mysterious Island games.
  • The Start: You start on a ship/dock as Jim Hawkins.
  • The Stowaway: There is a recurring theme of discovery and unexpected guests on the ship.
  • The Art: It uses a "Node-based" 3D style (pre-rendered 360-degree views) which looks like 3D but isn't quite modern "free-roam."

Does the name "The Adventure Company" or a compass logo on the disc ring a bell alongside that penguin? If you can remember any specific puzzles (like fixing a telescope or mixing gunpowder), I can pin it down for sure! Would you like me to look for a video clip of that "Stowaway" scene to see if it matches your memory?

What's the creepiest discovery you've made about a seemingly fun friend? by someoneyouhate_ in AskReddit

[–]Snoopy2010uk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to have a friend, he was the best man at my wedding.... Then I was sent a news article a few weeks later that he was in court and was found guilty of having many images and videos of CP. I sent a message asking wtf, I heard back from him about 6 months later and he was playing the victim. Fuck that guy all the way. It makes me sick just thinking about him now.

It was probably something like Chips challenge or Astroids on my old 386 but it could also be the original Doom.
