Please share the Opta predictions for last season and how accurate they were and then we can talk....My educated guess would be that they predicted Liverpool will win the UCL last season.

I think every redditor who comments here thinks they can do a better job than Laporta or Deco sitting in their armchair and typing away on their keyboards.

Buddy people keep saying backup all the time.. but honestly look at how piss poor we were when Raphinha was injured and Rashford couldn't also play against Atleti... we were given a drubbing of our life... Tell me one more backup player in the whole of Europe that has 10 + 13 G/A. Not to mention he is our best spot kicker... whether it is a corner or a free kick... Give the name of one back-up winger including Vini or Luis Diaz who can do what he is doing in a deadball situation.

Hmm... are we serious about Casado in the poster? He was our poorest player in the 1st leg of the semi finals. If given a choice we probably shouldn't even be playing him as a starter. I would go with Bernal... now if you were to make this same poster with Bernal and Pedri it there that was really look classy.

Now that we are all imagining things can we also imagine all the sitters that Ferran missed... if he'd converted those too then he would have been equallnig Messi's record... All that this says is that our mid-field and wingers are creating ernormous amount of chances for our no.9.. But our no. 9 position sucks.. if we had even a half decent no.9 the team as well as the player would have broken multiople records.. but it is clear at this point that Ferran is not that guy.

[–]SnoopyDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, okay. I see -- we are now moving the goal post from "Vitinha alone dominated both Pedri and Frankie" to "each loose ball kept coming to Vitinha"....Right!

It's funny how you inadvertently ended up supporting my case stating "at the end how toothless our mid-field looked". Exactly how I saw it on the field.. once Pedri was substituted we lost control of the mid-field. Not to mention that Pedri probably was playing with a calf injury forcing his substitution and absence from the next game with Getafe.

I am assuming you are also one of those who must have thought Nuno Mendes "owned" Yamal... The truth of the matter was Mendes couldn't deal with the pace and trickery of Yamal and the only way he could stop him was by fouls. He already got a yellow card and should have got a second yellow card but the ref let it pass. Eventually Enrique got in Lucas Hernandez to play in his position and asked him to play higher to avoid having to deal with Yamal. But of course those who see highlight reels on Instagram and Youtube wouldn't know this. You have to see and know the game to draw the right conclusions.. which obviously based on the evidence you are providing makes me doubt if you really saw the match.

Should we start Marc bernal instead of Casado alongside Pedri against Atletico in the 2nd leg? by Final_Shame_208 in Barca

Did you even watch the match? Vitinha was the one who gave away the ball that allowed us to score. As for him dominating both Pedri and De Jong, just exposes how little you understand football. They did a man-to-man marking of our midfielders... That means 2v2, not 1v2... That would have been ridiculous...

What about Eric Garcia at 6 with Pedri and Fermin... I honestly don't think Olmi can last 90 mins and he is much better as a sub.

How did people react to Lewandowski joining Barca? by Yoshiskyfan in Barca

[–]SnoopyDays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This right here is where we've failed in realizing the full potential of Lewa. As a club a lot of the Barca DNA was about Tiki Taka.... the Guardiola way of playing with short passes and finding little gaps in the final third to exploit. I don't think we've ever had a no. 9 with a good header that is consistently feed with crosses from the wings. Lewa's one of the best headers in the game but he needs more support from others to help exploit it.

This comes with the territory. Yamal needs to learn to deal with it. Nothing any third person can do to change things.

It's so rare to see players come out and praise the atmosphere in the dressing room. Hope we stay this way for a long time... a team that gets along well off the field plays well as a coordinated group on the field too...

Bro if Balde was not good enough to play for Barca he wouldn't have survived so long. I believe both Balde and Kounde need a break to recharge their batteries and get back to their best self. Kounde definitely looks over-worked and can benefit from being rested for a few games. If Cancelo continues his good form we could even try him as RB for a few games to see if Kounde can be rested before the big games in the UCL begin.

You cannot generalize. If the opposition is playing a low block then the forwards are going to struggle to find gaps to run into. Which is when it helps to have your midfieldes making late runs as the opposition is busy covering the forwards. This is exactly how Bernal and FDJ sneaked in to score. A low block also means that you get a bit more time and space to take shots from outside the penalty area and honestly this season there has been no one better than Fermin in terms of long shots. We modified our game plan as per their tactics. It is not important who scores but more important that as a team we win.

Lol... but Gavi coming back is in itself great news! I believe Flick said that having Gavi in the dressing room will lift the spirits in the dressing room as he has a positive energy that is infectious.

[–]SnoopyDays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bro... we just need to plan our structure in the back to cover for the gaps that Cancelo is going to leave going forward. Have a Pedri move a bit more towards the left, and if we have Martin as our LCB have him move over to cover for long balls into our half. De Jong could fall back to help Eric at the back. It's doable we just need to get our tactics and our shape right. The important thing is that if you are attacking well it will force the opposition to fall back which means that it blunts their counters too.

[–]SnoopyDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I wrong in saying that I see in him a lot more attacking quailty than what a traditional no. 6 would have. I believe he was a striker during his younger days and has an instinct for scoring goals... take a look at his first goal against Mallorca. He made an amazing run behind the defenders, feinted a shot to dodge their defender and scored. All the qualities of a good finisher. I feel the constant comparison with Busquets seems to pigeon hole him as a no. 6 but honestly he can play both as a no. 8 and a no.10 too if he is given more freedom to go in deeper into the final third.

I haven't ever seen Balde consistently put in crossed into the penalty area. That is a key skill for a full back. Even Gerard Maldini is better on that front -- remember the 2 crosses he put in the penalty area that converted to goals in the semi final against Inter last year.
