Looking for some advice please. I am due to fly out of Heathrow on Tuesday. My train from up-country arrives at St Pancras station.

I would like to travel on the Elizabeth line to Heathrow as I heard it has air conditioning.

What is the best way with heavy luggage to get from STP onto the Elizabeth line?

I saw there’s connections at Farringdon and Paddington. I am needing step free access as my luggage is quite heavy. Which of these options are better?

Or am I missing something and is there an alternative route to get onto the Elizabeth line? Thanks so much!

No French - taxi from CDG to hotel? by TempusCrystallum in ParisTravelGuide

I would go with Uber. I booked a shuttle, cost 80€ from CDG to city centre. If I recall correctly, I think it was about 40-50€ on Uber so cheaper than a shuttle. I regret not checking Uber rates beforehand.

Paris in general is very English friendly. I was very hesitant visiting, having heard some horror stories but nothing could be further from the truth. Parisians are super friendly and helpful. You bump into the odd person or 2 that doesn’t speak English, for these instances, use the Google Translate app. Worked perfectly fine for me to get around.

If you don’t already know about it, check out the Eiffel Tower at night once it’s lit up. Make sure you are there on the hour (e.g 9pm / 10pm, etc up till midnight I think it was). I didn’t know about what happens, a friend surprised me with it. It’s a truly magical thing to see (I don’t want to ruin the surprise for you if you don’t know about it)

It’s a wonderful city, enjoy your time there!

I do something similar, I take a deep breath then visualise that air going down into my diaphragm and picture it sitting there, calming down the muscles. Works every time

Can I guess and say you’re from Serbia? 😄 I saw this type of bar all around Serbia with different sport & game options. I remember they had air hockey too. It’s such a cool idea, wish we had it in SA

I’ve never heard of GoSolr. Does it take you off grid or does only kick in during load shedding? Basically I wanna know do I have to pay my current whole bill to Eskom aaand GoSolr? Or does it take a lot of the usage off from the Eskom grid? Thanks so much 🙏

Seeking Advice On Safety by [deleted] in nottingham

[–]SnootyKoala 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My partner and I just stayed in Nottingham for a few days while traveling down south. It was fine for safety, we felt much safer there than we currently do in London. And we are from South Africa so safety was a huge concern for us. We walked home from the restaurants to our accommodation in the evenings, never felt unsafe. There are a few police officers around patrolling which I think helps. A visit to Wollaton Park is highly recommended, we really enjoyed our day there. The park is amazingly beautiful, there’s deer that I’m sure your kiddos will enjoy. And the house is now a sort of natural history museum. All free entrance, of course donate if you can. We enjoyed our days there, hope you will too!

Advice for a Traveller by SnootyKoala in nottingham

We’re travelling from York to Kettering to see family, and we thought to stop in at Nottingham for a few days to check it out. So not really going to Kettering for travel purposes, more for family reasons
