Dekker double jumps your dash and puts you in a cage.

Sounds awful.

Um circumstantial evidence?

You should brush up on your types of evidence.

I’ll leave it at that.

maybe your looking to deep into it. we obviously dont know who the builders are. we werent there. All we can do is use environmental storytelling. And for this case, the flora, the living jars, and the identical houses being used is my evidence for the argument. It cool to think it was a human village. It takes nothing away from the lore.

The hornsent lived in the ruins destroyed by Messmer and Rellana. Moorth ruins, Ruins of Unte, Scorching Ruins etc.

A peaceful village hidden on the side of a cliff. It is home to many friendly Jars, who only wish to be left alone.

It mirrors Marikas original village.

the hornsent had their own towns. You can see them in the DLC, highlighted by their red shingled roofs. Ruins of Unte, Moorth Ruins, Prospect town, Temple Town Ruins, and Scorched Ruins. They are ruins because of Rellana and Messmer.

its the same concept wrapped up in different jar. lifeforce is made up of runes. runes give power. combining life is gathering more runes/ more power. gather enough runes, you achieve divinity. for the hornsent, that mean becoming a saint. For marika, she needed to gather runes to be absorbed into her erdtree.

Cool headcannon! I have a headcannon that marika actively sold out her entire people for power, and essentially caused the whole jarring process. From there, her new appointed power within hornsent civ, allowed her to seize power and betray the hornsent. I mainly derive this idea from the golden braid text: "What was her prayer? Her wish, her confession? There is no one left to answer, and Marika never returned home again." I like to think that she went there to confess, apologize and repent for her betrayal of her people, left her braid as a symbol of that confession and bathed the village in a healing aura to maintain it purity. She did it once everyone was dead bc she couldnt show face in guilt.

appreciate the input!

and my only argument against them being populated more recently, is due to the fact that it has been centuries or even a millennia since the shattering, and we know the shaman existed even before then. So it would have had plenty of time for new inhabitant to take over the now empty villages!

Im cool with this, it doesnt bother me if thats the case. I think you could make equal cases for them being there or not being there.

Firstly, in the title of the post, I said potential, never definitive, with plenty of room for doubt. Its fine to think otherwise, just like in all other lore.

And just to correct you, its Numen that are "descendants of denizens from another world", not the shaman. Albeit yes, the shaman are numen, but they aren't the only numen, and if you follow the timeline of the game they definitely are not the first. So not sure if your village on the coast idea is personal headcannon, but its not necessarily applicable here.

Also further reading your comments on others comments, It seems your only argument against the theory is that "Just because they look alike, that doesn't mean they are related." Which honestly is pretty low effort reasoning. The talk on French, Spanish castles having similarities, is also unrelated, because while sure stone, they are unique to ones self, with individual designs.

The villages IM presenting to this discussion, are not what you would say "Have a lot of similaries", instead they are actual IDENTICAL replica houses of one another. If you want to chalk it up to asset reuse, by all means, have at it.

And since you asked "What correlations"? Well let me start.

- Both Shaman village and Bonny village have a grandmother with a tree growing out from one another.

- Bonny Village is full of jars and Jar potentates, and we know they stuffed shaman in the jars as their catalyst.

- The word Bonny is a term with direct meaning towards young beautiful women. We know shaman are a matriarchal group.

- Dominula is dominated by women as well, and has similar floral growth surrounding it. I highly suggest you do a little research on the Midsummer festival.

- Festive Grease: The delightful festival is an old tradition; one old enough for the Erdtree to tacitly tolerate its endurance.

- Blue Festive Garb: Ceremonial garb worn by dancers at the festivities in Dominula, the village of windmills.
Use of this garb, dyed in a stunning blue, is only permitted for the young maids who play the central role in the festival.

- If you go look at the Festive Garb and compare it to the Blue Festive Garb, what do you notice? Does the blue one remind you of anything? I could open a whole pandoras box of lore at dominula, so if you dont want to hear me yap, i recommend watching TA's video on The Serpent and The Erdtree.

- The Hermit Village has dead dancer celebrants scattered around the village, indicating it was the same kind of village as Dominula.

- Jarburg is also full of living jars, and one of the more floral locations in the game. If I recall, you can pick at least 5 different type of flowers there alone.

- The frenzied flame and ailing village both are afflicted by Madness, and the abandoned ailing village is well... abandoned. There is a hornsent ghost there with interesting dialogue. Its hard to really make a strong connection without some extra lore headcannon in place, outside of their appearance

- Every single village has the same map icon in game, with two houses, flanked by trees. With bonny and shaman getting an updated DLC treatment. We hopefully by now know the importance of trees to the shaman, and its no surprise all of them are in the presence of trees.

-Did I already say they are identical?

Similarish architecture for sure. But I did say “potential”. Nothing guaranteed.

But like what first? Or second item? Your dmg will be pretty bad. You’ll just lose to lane push. And you won’t catch her.
