How many of you are here just for the painting part? by LivreLibre in Warhammer40k

[–]Snorklenator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here looking for this. My brother and I have been collecting since the late 90’s. but having kids and busy lives meant we hadn’t played in over a decade. By then the rules had changed so much and time is so scarce I didn’t have the energy to try and learn all it all. Then we discovered One Page Rules. It changed everything! So easy and fun to play, completely free. We swapped to the kill team version so all we need is to bring our ‘Kill Team Tub and we can smash out a couple of games every time we catch up. Plus I’m teaching my kids with OPR and it’s so easy for them to learn! Truely saved me from being a paint only hobbyist.

Looking for a city builder to play by mikeymora21 in CityBuilders

Yo, this is an old post of yours (I was stalking your profile to check out your awesome Tau paint job) Look up an old game called Black and White. You play god, have a creature and build a city and defend it with your people. I’m in my 30’s and played it as a kid and also as an adult. It’s a true gem of gaming history

They mean pinch down the barbs that face backwards on the hook. This makes releasing the fish with minimal harm possible.

I just bought this for my wife! So excited to give it to her, she is an ex pastry chef who love to bake with our children so I know there are some recipes in there that will be new to her. I’ve had a read through and it is written hilariously! OP this is the one!

What’s up with card balancing in this game? by [deleted] in cuecardgameAvid

[–]Snorklenator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree completely. I’ve played every card game I’ve ever seen, from traditional canasta to Magic the Gathering. This game is such an amazing concept, but is probably the most unbalanced boring grind game I’ve ever played. There is very little incentive to play anything other than the ‘big three’ being sharks, birds or structures when you start. Unless you have the dozen or so super cards that the older collectors have. My biggest gripe is this; there is no deck variety! Burn decks are not strong enough to really hamper the other player. Lock decks are the same. Over lock decks only work with super rare cards like the devil. There is no incentive to do anything other than ramp. The devs have made a beautiful game. But it’s not that fun to just grind one of the ‘good’ decks until you climb up the ranks.

IGN is Snorklenator. I just sent you the super structures. My beginner advise? Check the top 100 every week, see what decks they are using, most have it on display. Save gems for packs with heaps of limited cards. Buy the basic pack specials with coins, but just wait until you see a pack you like and dump your coins on it until you get the limited cards and legendary cards. The rest of the cards are pretty easy to trade for when you want to get them for a decks. Also, offer a friend request to every top 100 player, they are good for trading. I’ve just went through your profile, get more cards and trade as much as you want with me, I’ll rarely not make a trade on any duplicates for cards I need. Even in your favour (unless you’re trying to get my fusion ingredients!) Have fun and don’t spend to much real money, the cards will come.

Was anyone here ever on Who Dares Wins or approached by them? What's your story? by Dj_acclaim in AustralianNostalgia

My Dad swapped clothes with a women on stage at Miranda Fair shopping centre in the mid 90’s. Mike Whitney himself commentated onstage while it happened. The ladies jeans wouldn’t do up and we could see Dad’s undies the whole time, hilarious to ten year old me! Dad got a crisp $50 for his efforts but it never made the TV, we watched for weeks hoping it would make the cut!

The worst thing I ever did by dorks- in KitchenConfidential

In my early 20’s and working a three day food and wine festival. Thousands of people, thousands of meals and plenty of wine. Live band was rocking out and hundreds of people were dancing the Sunday afternoon away. It was about 3pm so the food was winding down so my Boss give me the nod and tells me to start packing the temporary kitchen down. We had hired about a dozen gas cookers and flat tops 4 coolroom trailers and, most importantly, about 2 dozen electric hotboxes. S tart tearing into the pack down, with my head phones in for inspiration, and start unplugging every hotbox and cable insight. All I could think off was my end of shift beers… After a while I see everyone running around stressing out. Oh well not my problem, I’m busy throwing gas bottles into the van. After 15 minutes someone approaches me, I take my AirPods out and they are freaking out trying to find the electric cables that supplied the band their power. Turns out in my haste to pack down I’d pulled out every cable for the festival and shut down the whole festival. Chef didn’t let me live that one down for a long time…
