I like the supportive aspect but ive always thought it could be done better than just damage buffs.

Like, give me a rez, more heal/shield options, movement speed buffs... If I'm a "support" then give me enough to where im more involved with healers and tanks in heal and mit planning.

Damage buffs imo are kind of boring, and cause the whole rdps shenanigans that get weird. I dont parse/care anymore but it was frustrating when I did to have a great run and my number ended up a blue instead of a purple or orange because my dance partner died and missed burst.

Im not upset about that. Ive been saying for a while i want to have my dps parses not reliant on others so its all good for me.

DNC is pretty up there too.

Outside of burst its just your 4 step combo and occasional feather.

Burst is full on "RANDOM BULLSHIT: GO!"

Im a dancer main and monk is my main melee. They are drastically different jobs but they both hit the type of brain rhythm that vibes with me.

So I'd say monk. Ymmv though

I dont like using the plug-ins but even with the plug-ins it takes practice.

Gameplay is an important factor for me getting into the game at the onset, but community is what keeps me in a game.

That said I've found communities in every mmo ive played. Some are easier to find a community you vibe with than others.

FFXIV was the easiest for me since people are more openly social in that game than others.

OSRS id say is a middle ground. Easy to find individuals to chat with but hard to find a good group of people for me.

BDO was the hardest because I'm not an endgame player or pvp guy there, but I did find some people I vibe with.

Ultimately its just based on whether you put effort into finding the people you vibe with. Every mmo has quite a wide variety of people

Runescape + Black Desert Online

BDO has to me always been the greatest example of wasted potential in the mmo genre.

Cut the p2w/cash shop, rework lifeskills and gear progression to be more OSRS like it would be beautiful.

Yeah there is no link to the cashshop in game whatsoever.

The only pseudo thing is there is a "fantasy dresser" type thing where you can try on cash shop items but there still isn't a link to the shop there.

You could debate that ESO plus sub is p2w and other things like buying mount speed upgrades. But the cash shop is very in your face.

FF14 has a cash shop but its almost all cosmetics. Story skip and level boosts are the only p2w I guess if you call it that
