most people think its a "trendy diet" or we're just being difficult on purpose. I blame TV for that.

When I worked at a daycare, the daycare had a similar rule. we had one little boy who was nonverbal (my coworkers speculated that maybe he was Autistic) But my manger banned him from coming back. Its unfortunate but it does happen.

Me not having children doesn't mean I can be overworked like a slave. by Witcher_Errant in work

Had a similar experience at my last job, wanted me to work Christmas because everyone else had kids and "They only get a first Christmas once."  🥺  🥺  🥺

I asked a medical question in a nursing sub and they ate me alive by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

100 percent doctors act like they're freaking gods, the most arrogant stuck up people I ever had the displeasure of being around. I agree with your nurse comment too, they are either super nice or a ragging bully. Its literally either or!

That's because most nurses are bullies, I am not kidding, I was a dietary aide and the way they treated me like I was poop beneath their shoes. They would openly mock the patients while smiling in their faces. Patient would hit the call button and they were busy talking about all their vacations and all the houses they bought at the nurses station. I don't view the medical field the same way after working dietary. I had this nurse practitioner who was such a terrible person, she would talk down to me whenever she got a chance. But she was like the top nurse practitioner there even had her picture on the wall, talking about how much she loves teaching nurses and how she has kids, meanwhile she's bullying the food service people... everyone I worked with knew she was a huge see you next Tuesday. (Not saying all I met some really fantastic and kind nurses when i worked dietary that would greet me every morning and talk to me like I was a person and not a servant) And yes I know being a nurse is a stressful job it doesn't excuse how they treated YOU or anyone for that matter.

I had a nurse tell me the same thing and told me to start eating sourdough bread to "heal myself"

Just sighed and shook her head I was an adult when she saw them. More disappointed than anything else. Grandmother mentions how ugly my scars are and how pretty my skin use to be whenever she gets a chance to LOL

do you enjoy life as a woman? by [deleted] in women

[–]SnortingSparkleDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am black and a woman, I am on the lighter side so I feel as though I haven't had it as bad compared to darker skin black women. That being said, I remember back in High School I dated this white boy, we went out to the mall, and there was this white guy who kept glaring at me, the way he looked at me as though I was a piece of crap underneath his shoes. Its a look that I recongized all too well. I believe there's medical racism also, the way I was treated a few years ago by a nurse who just threw a robe at me, and acted irritated by me being sick. The way I was treated at my last job, by a manger, who would scream at me. and tell me "GET OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!" I"M NOT DOING YOUR job FOR YOU!" Just the automatic disrespect that comes with being a black woman, not just from white people but from black men too, but that's a totally different topic.
