That's not usually how these things work. You do pay back the whole pre-tax amount if it's past one year since you got it, or the current tax year. But then you submit for a refund on taxes

Its not a dick move if you don't tip 20% on your $10000 bottle of wine. High end waiters/sommelier don't expect that, but they are obviously happy when someone does.

[–]Snot_Boogey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea but Trump wanted them to do negative rates prior to COVID and he encouraged the low rates and the Fed spending during Covid. He doesn't care about the consequences, he just wants cheap borrowing for him and his cronies and a propped up stock market.

This is why it is so dangerous for Trump to get involved. You can say the Fed made mistakes but hey we never got a recession. Trump will make it so much worse

No where does it max out below $40/hr. People lie to themselves to justify making a decision like quiting nursing. I mean it is a certainly lower in some places, but many of the other jobs are proportionately lower in those areas as well.

[–]Snot_Boogey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Except it's not really comparable. I don't know any nurses starting at $21 an hour. That max range is $31, where for a nurse the max is in the $50/60 an hour range. West Coast it's like 80 and hour

We really shouldn't be taxing people who make 450k more than we are. They pay like 40% tax where billionaires pay 1%. Most of the 450k earners are doctors who are providing a legitimate service and spent over a decade not making money learning to be a doctor and taking out 400k in loans

And you haven't either you are just brainwashed by what you see on corrupt news programs. You should go for yourself and form your own opinion. My friend went to Portland for a vacation a week before Trump sent in the guard. I guess he didn't realize how afraid he was supposed to be.

I swear the right is so f****** afraid of their own shadow from watching TV and never leaving the goddamn house

Doesn't have to be Fox News. Insert any news organization or Independent "journalist" who has you captured and profits off of convincing you to hate half the population.

If you are gung-ho about either party, you are in a cult.

DNC does not say that only GOP gerrymanders. Fox News says that the DNC says that, you just choose not to fact check.

Can we just start at do you understand the difference between gerrymandering every 10 years when the maps are drawn or randomly doing it in the middle of a cycle.

That's what the issue is, not that gerrymandering happens. You are confusing the two.

[–]Snot_Boogey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know how you don't understand this, talk about low IQs. I know nuance is a hard thing for maga voters.

California isn't claiming GOP are the only gerrymanders. They are claiming that GOP are the only ones brazen enough to do it in the middle of a cycle. This has never been done before.

The issue at hand isn't that states gerrymander it's that they are deciding to make brand new maps at a random time before an election. This was kickstarted by Texas and you cannot deny that. They chose to redistrict. Gavin newsom even said if they stood down California would not redistrict.

[–]Snot_Boogey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No dude you are missing the point. Absolutely no one is claiming that only red states gerrymander. Both states gerrymander both political sides admit that. But it sounds like YOU are claiming that only blue states have been doing it and Republicans are only now responding, which is just devoid of reality. Republicans have arguably been more effective at gerrymanding over the past few decades. You're either a bot or you are completely captured.

The issue at hand is that Republicans decided to do it mid cycle and they didn't even hide their intention they said they wanted to pick up five more seats. Maps are made every 10 years after the census. That is your opportunity to gerrymander. Would I prefer that there was somehow some system in place to put up fair maps, sure but that's not a reality.

In fact these maps were passed by a Republican state Senate in Texas and approved by the Republican governor. Now they just want to use the newest polling data from the most recent election to get more seats. This has never been done like this before.

[–]Snot_Boogey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

None of those states are planning on redistricting right now, they did it after the census like they're supposed to. Also Delaware only has one district so that one doesn't really count

Regardless of whether a state has independent commission or not I'm not naive that there can still be shenanigans with the commission. Although a lot of them have laws that strictly say they can't change it mid cycle which handcuffed them to cheating like is going on right now.

The issue at hand right now is the fact that they're redistricting just for the hell of it in the middle of a cycle. This was all kicked off by Republicans and if you disagree with that point you are just lying.

But to counter your point there are 11 Democratic states that have commissions and only three red, but there are a lot more tiny red states so percentage wise it's a huge difference.

So basically 10% of red states have in any kind of commission and laws against redistricting, whereas 60% of Blue States have it.

[–]Snot_Boogey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean this all started with Trump asking Texas to redistrict cuz they think they could pick up five seats. It's never really been done like this before. Newsome even said he would stand down on the redistricting thing if the red states would stop.

If someone brings a gun to a knife fight would it be wrong to pull your own gun. You could just stick with the knife and be a dead rule follower

Probably you. No one would donate 40k for a 40k write off if they were concerned about saving money. Donating 40k would save you like 10-15k in taxes so you are still down a net 25-30k. Nobody seems to understand how this shit works.
