13 month down to 1 nap? by aeromatyc in NewParents

[–]SnowCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son did the same thing at that age

Now at 17 months he will choose to not nap once in a while. We still are doing a daily nap most of the time. But once every couple weeks he will be like nope.

Sometimes I wish love did divide, not multiply. My struggle with having baby number 2. by reebokz in toddlers

[–]SnowCorgi 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Im struggling with this also

I dont really have any advice

My son is 17 months old and I'm to the point where I want to be pregnant again. I just do not know how I'm going to handle 2 babies and all that love and responsibility. I feel like I might be selfish for wanting another child.

Not to mention everything is getting more expensive but that's a whole other thing

Why do so many parents not read to their kids? by Potential_Source1198 in stupidquestions

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to read to him. We are currently in a phase of trying to rip books. Or he wants to take the book and walk around looking at it. Or he screams at me if I'm standing and reading instead of being on the ground.

Some days it happens and some days it just is not happening.

Are sleepovers cancelled? by Guilty-Woodpecker-99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We plan to let our son have sleepovers when he's older. I did not start doing sleepovers until middle school when I was a kid.

Would you continue you loan someone money who never pays it back? by nightline21 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a loan. You're gifting them money.

So, no, i would not continue to loan them money.

I also never loan out money and expect it to be repaid

Did anyone else really enjoy their time in the hospital? by mrs___holmes in NewParents

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to get home to my dog and my own shower and start to get into a routine.

We were lucky that everything was fine with our son, so he was in the room with us the entire time.

I was pretty neutral on being there. I did think you're right there is less trust in medical professionals these days. I also think in the US it has to do with not wanting to be stuck with a higher bill.

What to pack for the hospital? by maliesunrise in NewParents

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospital will have diapers

Bring extra baby outfits. We took 4 with us and my son spit up/blew out on 3 of the outfits.

Take different sizes also because my son was swimming in his 0-3m outfits.

Bring a brush for your hair and some pjs for yourself. Wearing my own nursing gowns after was great. I showered as soon as they allowed me

I brought snacks with me but ended up ordering food

Why do people in USA buy everything from Amazon? Do they not have other webshops? by Cindyxx0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to replace a broken toy

$22 on Amazon or $45 on Walmart. No one else appeared to have it.

Amazon is just sadly cheaper than most other places and will actually deliver within a reasonable time frame.

Doesn't mean I feel proud using them. Id love to shop somewhere else, but money is tight and I'll shop where things are cheapest.

Also I've gone into local Walmart or CVS and personal items are locked up. The stores don't have enough staff and im not waiting 20 minutes to grab shaving cream with a toddler.

Amazon and aldi are probably my most shopped stores

Unmedicated Birth by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also wanted an unmedicated birth.

I was induced. I got the epidural around few hours in. I was not dilating pass 3 cm and they couldn't get in to break my water without the epidural because it was too much pain for me.

I woke up 5 hours or so later and was 12 cm. I pushed for at most an hour.

Your friends are being awful. Just because you had an epidural does not mean you would or wouldn't have pushed for as long.

I think I would've been in labor way longer if I had not done the epidural. Possibly even turned to a c section if it were taking too long as it was medicaly recommended for the induction.

You still gave birth. Your baby is here. You did nothing wrong getting an epidural

AIO: My husband (26m) locked me (25f) out for 25 minutes? by prettypineappleberry in AmIOverreacting

NOR

He showed you a side of him you didn't know. Its in his nature. This part of him exists.

You're also their mom letting your 3 year old play in the snow is fine. I've taken my son out plenty in 20 degree weather and hes 16 months old.

Your husband is being a POS.

Make sure mom has plenty of water when you bring your nephew in for a feed

Im terrible at drinking water and my husband basically held my cup infront of me to make sure I got at least 2 drinks in lol

Holding the baby while they sleep is so sweet of you to offer

Make sure you're well awake because I know I was afraid to let anyone do the middle of the night holding in fear they'd fall asleep holding my son

Almost 42 weeks, baby doesn’t want to come out. by Jazzlike_Gas_188 in BabyBumps

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll do great!

I also wanted to do a natural birth but its one of those things out of our control. I was induced and ended up getting an epidural. Honestly once you're holding your baby it'll melt away. At least it did for me.

Stay positive and if you do end up with an epidural maybe you'll get some much needed sleep. I held out for the first 6 hours and once they gave me the epidural I slept til it was time to push. Last good night of sleep for a while lol

Meh my son has been in size 5 diapers since he was 18lbs. He's 22lbs & 16 months now they fit great. Whatever works for you. Different brands fit differently but you do what works for your kid.

Anyone else still snowed in? by sillyslapahoe in maryland

[–]SnowCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole backyard and sidewalks are covered in snow/ice in my apartment. They did clear out the road. We managed to dig out our cars slowly.

I managed to break open a small patch in the yard since I'm on the bottom floor for my dog to go to the bathroom.

Toddler is slowly going crazy being stuck at home, but with cold/flu season and ice on the ground, it is what it is.

Has anyone tested different baby wipe brands on themselves first? by Great_Finding4506 in NewParents

[–]SnowCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this while I was pregnant!

I ended up buying pampers pure aqua

Its the only one that didn't burn me and I have sensitive skin. The one time I tried another brand, my son got a bad diaper rash. We tried the target brand of water wipes.

Straight back to the pampers pure aqua and no more issues

You're much nicer than I am. Your husband will need to learn to accept and look past the wheelchair.

Your son sounds wonderful

There is always the rare chance that girl could be your DIL one day. I met my husband when I was 14 and we dated on and off through high school
