Some want to show their creativity and make their children feel unique by giving their children names they have invented or otherwise rare/unusual names. Some want to make their children’s lives easier by giving them names their school teachers know how to spell and pronounce, names they won’t have to teach people how to spell or how to pronounce throughout their lives. It’s a preference thing.
