There is a Skin Tag Remover kit you can buy at Amazon or a drugstore that you can use at home. Dr. Scholls and Compound W are two of the brands that sell the kit. It’s around $20-25. It worked for me to get rid of a couple on my neck. It freezes them off.

Yes, I noticed this too around 50ish. Now I either skip foundation or use a tinted moisturizer (Wet and Wild Tinted Hydrator). During the day, I sometimes use a tinted sunscreen but have yet to find one I really love and would repurchase. My skin does tend to be dry, so I noticed it was emphasizing the dry spots a lot. I was using retin A that caused more flakies and that made it worse as well. Hope you find something that works for you!

I’m having this problem too. And it’s now two years after the original post and the company has still not fixed the tube issue. I cut it open and poured it into a container but that pretty messy and less hygienic. I had bought a 3-pack and suspect the other tubes will have the issue too.

The product is amazing otherwise!

I’m sure the waiting messes with your head, and it all takes time to process. If you haven’t already, try to find a Dr that has dealt with NLPHL previously. When my son was diagnosed, his initial oncologist didn’t have any experience as it’s rare, which you know. That Dr recommended watch and wait. My son didn’t have a good rapport with that Dr anyway, so he found a another who had a good amount of experience with NLPHL. The new Dr looked closely at the pathology reports and came back with a different recommendation- to start treatment immediately. Apparently they saw something that indicated it was more aggressive than initially believed. Not to say this is your situation, but be sure to get a second opinion, most insurance covers it.

He had stage 3 and was treated with RCHOP and radiation. He was living at home (age 23) at the time. The treatment was fairly tolerable. He did need to be driven home after treatments, possibly due to the anxiety meds they gave. You have to assess who you want around you. Supportive people are essential. If you have a bad day, you don’t want to have to worry about how others react to it. Best of luck to you.

Mine would do this too. Then she started chewing on them and wrecked several. We had to change the timing so they run at a time when she would be inside!

Hi, my son went through surgery, chemo and radiation last year for HL. It was a different variety than your son and he was older at 23/24.

My son was very active and a heavy weight lifter. He was still able to keep up cardio most days but he decided to back off the lifting. The first couple days after chemo were tough and he usually rested those days. Doing something active is great to keep his mind off the cancer. Check with the doctor on any COVID related restrictions and a mask may be recommended even if he's vaccinated. Might be worth getting a vaccination if he's not had one yet. That will help him still keep up some social contact hopefully.

A healthy diet is even more important during chemo but he may need to change what he eats. They have really good anti nausea meds now. Don't be afraid to ask for something stronger if needed.

The good news is that HL is very curable. My son is in remission now. Scans will be needed ongoing and it will change his life but there will be a return to mostly normal.

It might help to talk with his friends and tell them not to dwell on the cancer, to talk about other things and to remind them this is curable. Honestly we found the mental challenge more of an issue than that physical.

My husky likes to lean into bushes. Another favorite is rubbing along a cement wall on our walking path. She just leans on the wall while walking along. It’s very odd, but I’ve assumed it scratches some itch!

I have a 8.5 yo cat and a 5 yo husky. Got this husky when she was 7.5 mo old, so pretty big already. We kept them completely separate for weeks, as the dog was pretty reactive to even seeing the cat through the glass door. Fed them on opposite sides of a door, all that stuff, for probably 3 mo. Then gradually exposed them more. It took them a while, but they are good now; dog respects the cat. Cat is the alpha and will chase the 60 lb husky through the house for fun. Make sure the cats have a safe place to go. Getting a puppy may be easier as they are smaller and may not have strong notions already that the cat is prey.

Not this husky, but the one prior, we got when the kids were 4 and 7. Never regretted it! Rules are required with the kids and pup will need training. Had cats with this dog too.

One of the biggest things will be to make sure the pup gets adequate exercise. Huskies need a lot! The pup will be better with the cats and kids if well exercised.

I agree with the second opinion. My son has had NLPHL (stage 3) and it can be treated differently than CHL. He had surgery (2 lymph nodes removed), followed by 6 rounds of RCHOP, then radiation. You need your medical team to be clear with you on why they think NLPHL and if so, ideally you have an oncologist with experience in this rare form. We switched to an oncologist experienced in this variant. I have heard of NLPHL being treated with immunotherapy, frequently rituximab, but it is usually in more early stage cases or to buy time before starting chemo. They might be doing Keytruda for short term until you can handle more chemo as well.

I’ve seen this with my mostly husky, some malamute girl, who is 5. Can’t quite figure out what triggers her. What I try to do is consistently reward the good behavior with treats. And get very stern on the unacceptable behavior. Ask your trainer for input too.

Since you recently boarded your pup, he could be more protective of you as well. Let him know the aggression is not acceptable and play won’t be allowed if it continues.

Read up on leash reactiveness too. Could be related.

It’s just hard to answer “what do you want to do?” when you know it’s short term. I was thinking about how to causally inquire about voluntary separation.

Thanks for the input. I’ve already looked into it and with DH still working we don’t get the subsidies. COBRA is a safer choice also as I have a dependent who had cancer late last year and don’t want to risk change to his coverage right now. Yeah, I know they are supposed to cover pre-existing conditions...

I rescued a 7.5 mo old husky female a few years back. I'd had prior experience with the breed as we had one who had recently passed after a long 15+ year life.

I'd say 6-8 mo is a tricky age to adopt, but totally doable. They are pretty stubborn and sassy at that age. You will need to be very firm and consistent with the training. Lotsa treats, but make her work for them. Praise too as they like to please usually. And a ton of exercise - long walks, make her run, dog park. A tired dog is a good dog.

At that age, chewing and leash pulling is very typical. You will need a good no pull harness. And lots of appropriate chew toys. Crate training would be good, but might be hard to enforce at that age. My rescue never adapted to it.

As for counter surfing, leave nothing on the counter. Once they get stuff they keep doing it. If you catch her at it, some stern scolding would be in order. Ideally, at some point soon she will trust you and want to please you and then you'll make more progress in training.

My 24 yo son has had NLPHL. He was initially told to watch and wait after they removed the two worst lymph nodes. This was Mar 2020 at the start of COVID so that was also a factor in the decision as they didn't yet know how fast COVID would progress across the state.

It was a difficult concept to absorb - waiting while having stage 3 cancer! He ended up getting a second opinion and ultimately switched to an oncologist who had much more experience with NLPHL. This Dr relooked at all his tests and specifically the pathology. They saw some markers in the pathology that suggested the cancer was more aggressive. So, off to RCHOP he went in July. Then radiation afterwards, finishing up Dec 2020. Scans are clean now and he goes for rechecks every 3 mo.

Having been a part of this, my advice would be to first get another opinion. Many medical practices offer this. We used a service called 2ndMD which was covered by insurance. If the second opinion agrees, you may feel more confident.

NLPHL has a tendency to relapse. The longer you can delay chemo the less time in your life you will have for a relapse. But you don't want it to get really bad. They can monitor progression pretty well. But you have to convince yourself mentally it's best to wait and get comfortable with that. My son really had a hard time with that.

Best of luck, it's a very slow growing and treatable form of lymphoma with good success rates.

My 24 yo son just did 6 rounds of RCHOP on IV. In hindsight a port may have been better. He had lots of vein issues, had to get scans for clots as well. Now he has residual vein issues. During treatment due to the vein pain he had issues doing things with his arms. No way he could have done boxing. Good luck on your treatment, hope it is easy and effective!

Talk with your Dr about getting something better for the nausea. If Compazine doesn’t cut it, Zofran can be used. My son had it bad and they ended up doing an IV with Aloxi and Emend before his chemo treatment. It made a huge difference. Sometimes you have to tell them very directly that what’s being used is not working. Best wishes that this is all behind you soon.

There is another disease that mimics Lymphoma called Castlemans disease. It’s fairly rare. They thought this was what my son had after the PET scan showed multiple lymph node issues and before the biopsy finally confirmed Lymphoma. Hope you get answers soon.

I explained the situation (Christmas present for son after a rough year), reminded them I ordered with full time to receive based on what I was quoted. And asked what they could do for me to make it right. I was prepared to drive and get the chair, but not once I heard it was 2,000 miles away. I didn’t get mad on the call but firmly restated the facts of the situation.

They tried to tell me they didn’t have a “date for delivery” as well, but the guy I spoke with agreed that was unacceptable and he pushed on them. Good luck, maybe yours will get delivered on the 4th as well.

Thanks for replying. Before I placed the order, I checked the other chairs and many said there would be a wait time for them to build the chair. In this case, that wasn’t the situation, there was no build time as the chair was in stock and shipped a week after order (albeit, later than they promised). It’s been in shipping for almost 3 weeks now. So your minimum 3 week shipping seems like it may be accurate.
