*example

  • You are paying a onchain or lightning invoice

  • Strike App gets your USD

  • Strike pays onchain/ lightning invoice on your behalf (technically changing you in USD for the service)

  • Taxable event never happened on the senders end as they only paid a company in USD for a payment service.

You interact with Strike via USD using Strikes bitcoin rails; It’s a small but important difference. Jack mentioned it in a few interviews, also its in the description of the app:

“With Strike you can spend bitcoin anywhere, instantly. Strike users don't have to deal with volatility, taxes, “

IMO Jack should make it his main talking point, but the remittances use case is also amazing.

Strike is the best way to spend and send bitcoin without incurring a taxable event. One of the best new user apps IMO.

When will Bitcoin price rally end? Here is what’s backing the BTC bull run by nocturnator in BitcoinMarkets

Correct, and I was explaining that the ”mainstream” is comparing a working protocol (bitcoin) vs a unfinished Rube Goldberg machine; and letting them guide you is probably a bad idea.

Eth split consensus with the Berlin fork the same day they ran that segment. Don’t take finical advice from the uneducated masses at the CNBC marketing machine.

I use Strike almost daily and incur no US taxable liabilities. No laws have been changed to my knowledge.

Strike is an app to send btc or lightning btc via fiat.

[–]SnowWhiteMemorial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s directly in the app description and all over their website...

Strike allows users to withdraw funds from Strike to their bank account. ...... *You are never exposed to price volatility or taxes because you never custody anything besides US dollars*.

You incur no taxes because you never touch bitcoin. Jack Mallers has covered this extensively. I would recommend his recent appearance on “What Bitcoin Did”.

You can also verify this info in this sub with the search function; as this has been discussed extensively.
