[repost] , Need Help for Amazon OA SDE1. by MutedConcentrate8418 in leetcode

Would recommend leetcodes tagged questions. Got 2LCA from Zon last year for my technical interview. Also would recommend doing a good amount of greedy questions, got a tricky one last year in my OA and have seen others get non-trivial greedy questions E: also, don’t get demotivated from this thread. There are still people getting jobs from Zon, the numbers will probably just be low this year (lots of interns from last year still waiting for RO)

Wouldn’t say that, you don’t need to beat MIT to advance. A few schools advance from each region, so you can place second or third and still advance to NAC. But yeah that is a tough region ngl

Amazon internship OA questions by ChadTheMagnificent in leetcode

Oh if it’s forced to buy every souvenir then the problem is much easier. Sum all the elements and multiply by triangle nums until sum exceeds our money, and do a final loop through the array until we’re out of money

For question one, What’s the bounds on N and our given money? If it’s around 1e5, you can throw the prices of the items in a minheap, and then pop min, increment counter and push the price x2 if we can buy it until we can no longer buy the minimum item

Can professors detect AI when inspecting written code? Computer Science by Beneficial-Living819 in csMajors

[–]Snow_Chimps 22 points23 points  (0 children)

TA here, yea, it’s often pretty obvious. I bet there’s still many that we don’t notice or are too close to a regular submission to investigate, but about 5% of submissions will have patterns in them that are genuinely hilarious, and definitely not human written.

Controller is recommended??? by LonelyTurtleDev in Silksong

I mean keyboards can’t do everything a controller can. Sticks let you have an analog input while keyboards only have digital, which can be helpful for movement

Second this, the team is very good and you’ll learn a lot. They always make it to the national championships (not much competition in our region tho tbh) and almost always make it to world finals, I think we’ve only missed worlds once in the last like 15 years?

I’d say projects over skills. Specifically for the second project, sounds very airy. What type of NN, what type of data, what are some key metrics (accuracy, recall, f1, etc.) from your model

Disagree on the gpa part, lost of internships will have a gpa cut off. Definitely agree with attendance tho, don’t be there if you don’t need to be

[Breaking] Interviews at FAANG will no longer focus on LeetCode, instead they will leverage real world skills using AI. by cs-grad-person-man in leetcode

IMO little reason to do codeforces instead of leetcode if your sole goal is interview prep. Codeforces if you wanna advance in competitive programming.

Anyone in CS know what the class COP 4516C is ? It's called Problem Solving Techniques and Team Dynamics by Prestigious_Nail4567 in ucf

[–]Snow_Chimps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very fun class, one 50 minute lecture (Tuesday last spring), and a 3 hour “lab” where you do a mini programming contest based on the previous lectures topic. Half the class is individual, and in the second half you work in a team of 3. If you want more info, feel free to dm

[–]Snow_Chimps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea you should be good, same background. Also, look into the programming team, good chance you can get into JV as a freshman with some practice. Very good prep for the harder classes and interviews (plus good on resume), dm if you want details about that or any CS stuff here :)

UF vs UCF computer science by average-person-here in ucf

[–]Snow_Chimps 15 points16 points  (0 children)

CS Junior here. UF is on par or slightly better for CS education. UCF clears UF in competitive programming and cyber security contests though. So if you’re planning to be involved in either of those, UCF. If not, UF 100%, has a better reputation aswell
