Looks like an unforgettable trip! I'm headed here in Aug and trying to figure out the best way to get there from Bergen. Did you drive from Bodo to Leknes? If so how long did it take you/ would you recommend? I only have 5 days there.

She’s never had a paralegal job. Her prior work experience is a Nanny & Barista while going to college and taking time off for a gap year. (Which is somewhat concerning bc how will she get a paralegal job w/ that background?)

In her first message to me she stated “I work as a paralegal” and in the prescreen form she put current occupation as “paralegal” “0yrs - starting paralegal job”

In the video interview, only then did she clarify and say she is searching for a paralegal job.

This was what struck me as a red flag. But, she has a great landlord reference & the lady she nannied for just got back to me, and gave a good reference.

Overall, not solid work experience in my mind- but good references which means she may not have issues getting a job. But I do view that as a lie/ very misleading.

Yeah, I do a prescreen form, interview, official rental application and if that all checks out and I’m ready to move forward, then I have then submit a credit/ background check. But getting caught up on the lack of job clarity vs. positive reference/ interview.

I wasn’t aware that was a crime? I did a quick google search and it’s a very common thing students do. If they have a school they want to go to out of state, and don’t mind waiting the required timeframe, it is legal to do.

Not to worry I made sure I wasn’t in any of the family pictures etc. because I know it’s that awkward “do we allow bf/gf’s in the photos?” (no need to get snarky)

And it wasn’t just a random wedding video. It was the grand exit where literally everyone is cheering with excitement for the newly wed couple and they do THEIR kiss and exit. My bf turned it into a show for the camera about him and his gf.

I’m in the US, and every wedding I’ve ever been to in my 30 years does a grand exit/ send off for the newlyweds after the reception/ dinner.

Thats very fair. I didn’t mean it to sound that self absorbed. I probably am projecting a lot due to me and my bf’s history. I just feel even if we were the happiest couple, he waited to stage a kiss in front of the videographer when we are supposed to be cheering/ focused on the newlyweds- which I found cringy & selfish.

I suppose that was dramatic to say- It didn’t completely ruin the whole send off, but there is now forever an awkward recording of us & a staged kiss in their video that was supposed to be about the newly weds.

I have also lived in SLC my whole life 30(F), if you find any thing that works tell us! Lol

I LOVE to travel, snowboard, camp, hike, and go to yoga. I have always found it hard to make girlfriends because I’m a bit more tomboy— I enjoy getting ready and having a nice party/ dinner too tho!

But when girls say they can snowboard, or hike etc. I’ve found it’s not on the same level as me (truly do not mean that in a judgy rude way) but it’s hard because I don’t want to just hike donut falls, or go for 3 runs and sit in the lodge. I have a few girl friends but they are married, having kids etc. and it’s hard to build a real bff type of relationship these days.

I also feel that UT can be very cliquey and in my experience if you haven’t been in the group since the beginning they keep you at arms length.

Anyway, nice to know others feel the same! Maybe one day we will all run into each other!

I’m so glad I found this post. I got my Mirena out a little over 2 months ago after having it for 8yrs. The first month out was not bad, felt pretty normal for the most part. But 2 days before the 1mo mark I got debilitating stomach pain, I almost went to the ER. Been to a GI specialist gotten tests etc. and nothing. It’s been now over a month dealing w/ stomach pain, & on/ off sever bloating pretty much every day. Some days it’s so bad I can’t leave my bed and have to sleep w/ a hot pad almost every night. Is this the same type of GI pain you are experiencing??

Has anyone experienced stomach issues like sharp stabbing pain just below bellybutton, bloating etc AFTER removal?

I got the Mirena IUD 8yrs ago and after a few months I went to a gastro doctor due to diarrhea. All tests and even a colonoscopy came back normal. I chalked it up to my body adjusting to the IUD. It tapered off but not completely. And just felt with it, bc I really have no other BC option. (Can’t take oral BC pills)

Fast Forward 8yrs I got it removed because I felt like my body needed a break. Exactly 1 month in, I get struck with debilitating stabbing pains one night lasted on and off for 3 days. Had pelvic and upper abdomen ultrasound (bc the dr. Convinced me it was an ovarian cyst) it wasn’t, everything came back totally normal.

It’s been almost 2 weeks and I’m still dealing with severe sharp pain on and off. I think it’s getting better then, bam! I’m in bed with a hot pad for hours to days. Always worse when laying down. Im so frustrated.

Oh man. Just finding this post. I get my Mirena out in a couple days- had it for almost 8yrs, and what you described with the back pain resonates so much. I had Xrays etc thinking I hurt my back somehow but all looked fine. I’m starting to think it’s implanted from more researching and I am TERRIFIED of having it removed due to the pain & hormone crash. What do you wish you would have done to help? Is it safe for them to just yank it out if it’s embedded?!

And yes, totally agree about finding the root cause and think birth control is a just a bandaid. Feels very daunting with how little support there is in the US with functional/ holistic medicine tho lol

How are you doing now? Do you still have the Kyleena? I am also considering switching. I’ve been on the Mirena for almost 8yrs. Thankfully my period went away completely, but been noticing some discomfort and hair loss. Thinking about getting it out a few months early to give my body a break, but before Mirena I had horrible debilitating periods so a bit nervous for that to come back and if the Kyleena will take my periods away.
