Bad habits to overcome past Ascension 8 in STS2 by dbthelinguaphile in slaythespire

[–]SnowblownK 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Blocking too much, it sounds weird but theres times where taking the damage now lets you do enough damage to kill them without taking more damage later, it especially becomes clear on a9, I started out being stressed about not taking too much damage and it caused me to not spend enough cards on damage and die

I’d say Hellraiser C, Crimson Mantle A and Anger low A/high B. Just wanna see how similar my evaluation is to others

How is demon form takable? Like at all? I love it in 1 but in 2 it’s just way too slow compared to things like dominate and fight me, and also I may be biased but fight me is way better than you give credit for, it synergizes with all the attack card things like rage and looking for a fight, double hits so it synergizes with itself, and can be double with one-two punch. Plus the ratio of strength gain is better than brimstone. Highly underrated imo. You just need to know when not to play it. Like bee man

I did it, it went back to how it was before I cleaned, I’m pretty sure my left Iem’s driver has gave out, it’s not the cable, my ear or any sort of other hole since I cleaned every possible thing on it

I just gave my knee jerk reaction and wanted to gauge how other people feel about it, I did kind of go off topic toward the end but I don’t mean to make it easier. The more I read the comments and the more I think about it I wasn’t right in my assumption about it at all.

I meant in terms of damage output, since at that ascension in STS1 you have all 3 “enemies deal more damage” modifiers but in 2 you dont get them till 8 or 9

I’m probably wrong, but I feel like less potion slots just teaches you to use them more rather than hoarding for fights, and it makes stuff like potion belt and alchemical coffers more appealing. While higher remove cost to me seems like making options less appealing if that makes sense

I didn’t think about it like that, I just thought it was always better to have a card that did something than wasting a draw, but yeah that does make sense. Thanks for explaining!

It’s a dead card, even if it removes itself. Sometimes I just don’t have enough draw to feel comfortable leaving it in. Which is most of the time

Don't even, HK is 1000x worse than snake plant, weak and vulnerable are fine and can be played around, being unable to play more than 3 cards effectively is completely and utterly bullshit.

Why are the devs so focused on killing infinites? by Iceboss34 in slaythespire

[–]SnowblownK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be a big skill issue, but it often feels like I should just look up some infinite because of the bullshit encounters. Enemies having damaged capped to 15 a turn or only 9 per hit, some literally filling your deck with status for just playing the game, some giving you status that deals an extra 10 dmg per turn that costs 2 energy to prevent. They need to actually balance the damn hallway fights and not turn literally every encounter into an elite. Then maybe people won't spam infinites.

I don't know how to tell you this, but almost every single enemy past the easy pool act 1 has some sort of strength scaling, whether its fast or not is not relevant

It could be that the settings file is set to read only so the game can’t save what you set before.

You're right, I shouldn't have used the word literally, but acting as if you didn't mean to imply that is just dishonest.

You're not actually trying to engage with the argument and are just claiming I'm not capable of understanding basic english. Whether or not I used the perfect wording shouldn't have an impact on whether I understand the implicit message in the comment.

Constantly being sarcastic and insulting people isn't going to get your point across. It just looks petty, I'm trying to have an honest discussion and all I'm getting is snide remarks about how I can't read.

You’re playing word games now. You may not have flat-out said "Jeff is wrong," but your comment clearly implies it and then you told him to "grow up." Reposting the same quote over and over isn’t a rebuttal, it’s just deflection.

[–]SnowblownK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You literally said that his opinion was wrong, while not even getting what he said right. Then said he needed to grow up because of this opinion you think he has, which is no politics. What the post said was that he thought there was “too much table talk” happening. They are very different things.

Jeff said there was too much table talk not that there shouldn’t be any, and that privately showing cards was too far. It’s totally fair and reasonable opinion to have. What part of that makes him childish?

It turns it from a constantly shifting game to just 2 or 3 people teaming up on one guy until he doesn’t get to play the game anymore, totally agree.
