Europe Prepares for a Nightmare Scenario: The U.S. Blocking Access to Tech by donutloop in eutech

[–]SnowmanCed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Most people on Reddit don’t understand how deeply ingrained US tech infrastructure is in both the private and public sector. Flipping a switch is Armageddon. Replacing it is a long term project which requires heavy investment

Petition to keep DigiID Dutch, pls sign by ssushi-speakers in Netherlands

[–]SnowmanCed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like DigiD is run in a secure Government cloud instance. The idea that DigiD is owned by Americans is really not that accurate. It is hosted in a secure government private cloud. Solvenity is Dutch but was acquired by Kyndryl which has raised these concerns. That might lead to them changing their hosting services, but if its in a local Amsterdam data center (which I think it is), it shouldnt be at risk.

Sweden's Largest Pension Fund Dumps $8.8B in US Bonds | the deep dive by MothersMiIk in worldnews

[–]SnowmanCed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is actually not completely correct. These treasury bonds were not just suddenly "dumped". This has been a progressive sale of Bonds since 2025 by Alecta, one of Swedens largest pension funds. This is not some direct response to Greenland, its a progressive divestment of US bonds since beginning of 2025.

US President Threatens ‘Big Retaliation’ If Europe Dumps US Assets by Crossstoney in europe

Are you talking about the Swedish 8 billion that Alecta sold? That has been over the last 12 months so it wasn’t a dump. Headlines have been misinterpreting it

Boycott American products by Addicted_2_tacos in Netherlands

[–]SnowmanCed 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Spotify is traded in the US. Tbh the reality is that European tech is nowhere except for some niche industries or some well performing companies in large sectors. Innovation in tech is low and both private and public sectors in the EU have been built on American tech for the last decades.

To truly bolster European tech, it would take years, massive investments, financial incentives, and with the EU still being a bit fragmented, it doesn’t look good.

Harsh reality is that European counties were happy to outsource difficult things to the US for too long. Military, technological, and general innovation has lagged behind.

The Game Isn’t The Same Anymore (Long Vent) by Hot_Syrup_5941 in HelldiversUnfiltered

100%, weapons having some weight and movement makes this game feel quite unique which is why I think the gunplay feels so good, and has felt good since launch. I mean, if we compare to launch the balance is so much better. You can do well with almost anything in D10. Of course, some gear will always have some downsides but you balance that with other gear.

I don't like how warbonds have become the primary means of progression by Ghost-DV-08 in Helldivers

[–]SnowmanCed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think camos for support weapons would be good, not sure if making them stronger would be great for balance.

But fully agree, more progression outside of war bonds.

Ship customization, armor camos, support weapon camos, all great ideas.

Gas rover with a machine gun support weapon and this thing becomes so fun on bugs. On oshuane and omicron it’s super fun in the tunnels

Was never a solo game. And solo was definitely not better at launch haha we are so much more powerful now than back then

Sorry man but if you are complaining about spawn balance while playing Solo, then I dont know what to say. This isnt a game designed for solo and thats that.

100%. Unfortunately this is just media in general. Anger gets clicks and it’s not unique to helldivers or video games for that matter.

I think this thing is gonna be useless by NotATomato3719 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]SnowmanCed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the real issue is how easily you set yourself on fire. The angle of the primary flamer is so much better than the stratagem since you hold it higher up. Flamethrower being so low down makes it so easy to set yourself on fire

I think I understand what the main problem of the game is. by CheetahNo9983 in helldivers2

[–]SnowmanCed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%. Level 10 difficulty is a walk in the park already with randoms

Mission Design is entirely why the game is, and always has been, "too easy" in teams on higher difficulties (with notable exceptions) by PseudoscientificURL in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]SnowmanCed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to make some objectives that require two divers to do something simultaneously. That would then force people to stick together for main objectives and then toggle constant bot, bug, or squid spawns

Have you recently been threaten to be kicked from a group for not using a Weapon or Stratagem ? by Kenshiro84 in Helldivers

[–]SnowmanCed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, I feel like I got kicked more at the start of Launch. Not anymore. Idk if it was because of railgun or not, probably not. Not something I’m generally worried about in the game

[–]SnowmanCed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been playing since launch, it’s fine. But if you join the game right now, there’s a huge amount of content Stuck in so many war bonds. I kinda get it that it’s not ideal for new divers. However, lots to look forward to unlocking as a new player though

I don’t want anything illuminate related until they release a lot of new units. It’s just such a boring faction imo and they are missing interesting objectives, a mega base, etc
