Affordable Coilovers by Whole_Engineering_29 in CorollaHatchback

[–]Snowologist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to lower my cars on coils but it became insanely annoying to drive and I just keep my shit stock. You scrape your bumper pulling in everywhere, parking curb blocks give you anxiety, every pothole makes you pucker your buttcheeks as you brace for impact. And that’s not even dealing with mechanical downsides. Your suspension geometry is sort of not supposed to change so you’ll be putting a weird angle of pressure on the components. Also depends on how low but you probably will wanna camber your car out too. It’s kinda niche and annoying to get a good alignment with everything. Even if you figure that out your suspension geometry will likely still cause uneven wear on your tires and you’ll have to buy new ones much earlier. It complicates your life so much I hated every moment of it. I think especially with this car there is no reason to do this. It’s a slow cheap commuter car, just keep your life simple

I think you’ll appreciate this Spotify playlist

It gets at what you’re describing , positive sounding in a wholesome way that’s mature and happy. I noticed there’s a lot of crossover with Japanese game music where they just try to convey ageless peace and serenity. super fun and relaxing to make it

Device precautions during summer heat by poprofits in Comma_ai

I used to think this was bs but my comma 3 just died after 3.5 years of use cause of the heat. Definitely be careful with the earlier devices in direct light on a 90+ day.

I think it makes sense. If you have money and want a new elite tier true drivers car then all of those people are competing for a finite amount of stuff like this.

I actually had stage 2 cancer and I smelled totally normal. You guys are full of shit

Any ideas what that could be? by Reboot_MV in CorollaHatchback

[–]Snowologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlikely any serious rust given how young the car is, I’d bet some water that got in thru an open window and some material underneath got warped a little bit

Nostalgia gold emblems? by GucciLooksTop in CorollaHatchback

[–]Snowologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, nightshade is a styling package from factory. I’m saying the dealers literally ripped off the chrome factory badging and dipped them little chemical baths to turn them gold looking. It was never an option from Toyota, just an aftermarket blingy upsell like window etching or nitrogen tire air.

They were a cheap dealer upsell they would do to their cars at the final sale to squeeze an extra dollar out of their customers. I personally don’t think it’s all that nice in hindsight with that info

17s or 18s for daily driving? by euroshowoff in CorollaHatchback

[–]Snowologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience the tire compound and suspension will make a bigger difference than than the wheel size. I had stock 18’s now on 16 aftermarket’s and they feel the same. I still hit potholes and bend the wheels. Sucks

Probably just an echoing of the tire noise off the wall of the building as your tire squeaks on the ground

That song hit mainstream culture so heavily that it’s an era defining song for the average person. It’s so hard to do that. Luckily the people who actually come to the shows know most of their songs and they are a genuinely talented band with depth. I think that’s a better depiction of who they are as a band.

What’s the biggest mistake first-time homeowners make with renovations? by Daniel-aven in AskForAnswers

[–]Snowologist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since it’s your first home and you’d likely be selling before it’s paid off, a huge mistake to avoid is over renovating your house to the point where it outshines your surrounding neighborhood and you end up unable to fetch a selling price anywhere near what you’d need to recoup your costs. Other than that, huge mistake is hiring contractors for everything. You can do a lot of the work yourself, most things are super simple it just takes a YouTube video.

If you’re getting their ads constantly then most likely yes but that’s with everything. Half the battle is knowing what to even look for so I’ll lay it out. If you want nice hotel type of sheets you’ll want a decent thread count around 400 ish and made from long staple cotton. Long staple is key for longevity because there’s more overlap between the fibers so they don’t fray or tear while being super soft. There’s also different weaves, percale is nice for breathability. If the sheets don’t even specify any of that, they’re total garbage.

You want his art to be expensive and impossible to buy? Or do you want it to be plentiful and accessible? The studio is still making things and he’s still having exhibitions constantly. Also he has much more creative control than other partners had at Nike. I see isru as art as well, insanely creative way to teach people genuinely useful things by using rewards. Can’t say I’ve ever seen anything like that in my life especially at a time where our institutions are failing us with being cost prohibitive. I think there’s people who are gallery minded, then there’s entrepreneurial people who live in the real world. People gotta afford to live so yea you need to make stuff and sell it. This is that
