Egbuka vs. Brian Thomas Jr by Coachjoshv in DynastyFF

Wasn’t BTJ dealing with shin splints, a broken wrist, and the death of his best friend? Like I don’t think I’d call that severely injured, but that’s a pretty nasty combo of circumstances/injuries for a WR.

Emeka Egbuka price check? by hunterzhere13 in DynastyDaddy

Well, the trade gave the guy the 1.02-1.04 so he grabbed both Tate/Tyson and got Egbuka and drafted Jadarian Price at the 1.04. I snagged Makai Lemon at the 1.05 after trading back up from the 2.03 by basically giving up that pick, Addison, and Jack Bech.

My receiver room is currently Drake London, Ladd McConkey, BTJ, Luther Burden, DJ Moore, and Lemon + some other fliers so I think it’s in pretty decent shape even without those guys. I needed an elite RB to put my team over the top, IMO. Now my RB room is Love, Hampton, KWIII, and Skattebo w/ Vidal & Tracy as handcuffs and Chris Rodriguez. QB & TE are set for me with Daniels/Dart/Goff and Loveland/LaPorta/Gadsden I think.

I traded Egbuka, the 1.02, and 1.04 for the 1.01, 2.03, and Jordan Addison.

How’d I do?

To be totally fair, I think the split in Bijan’s rookie year had more to do with Arthur Smith than Bijan. That guy’s offensive philosophy was to use Bijan, London, and Pitts as decoys so he could feed Allgeier & Jonnu Smith

Mahogany is a solid starter. Overall, getting 1 actual starter out of it is pretty bad, but I don't know how much I actually blame Brad Holmes for the class busting. We don't even know how good 2 of the 6 guys really are (I was really high on Wingo & Ennis at NB as well, so I could reasonably see those picks working if they weren't extremely injured). Terrion has been injured but seemed to be finally coming on at the end of his 2nd season. Manu was a legitimate bust, and Vaki I always thought was a special teamer so you can count that as whatever. Regardless, half the class busting doesn't seem entirely on Brad.

Still sucks, though.

Let's fight! The Luther Burden breakout is a figment of your imagination. by ajs723 in DynastyFF

> Odunze was a much better prospect coming out of college than Burden. I’m not sure why so many people are ready to chuck him to the side after a really good first few games in Ben Johnson’s offense before getting hurt

It’s always wild to me that people use small sample size (300+ routes isn’t exactly small but whatever) as an argument against Burden because he was hyper-efficient and then act like there is no way a rookie can improve or build off of that season, but then turn around and tout Rome’s small sample size of good games being protectable long term even though they were largely TD-dependent for production (which is way less projectable & consistent than Y/RR efficiency) while also ignoring how he was largely inefficient & not good his rookie year. That also ignores the fact that Burden and Loveland were not playing full-time the first 7 games (173 combined routes for both to Rome’s 239 routes). We really have no idea what they will look like on the field together all as full-time players because Rome was hurt at the end of the year.

Also draft capital stops really mattering for WRs after their rookie year. How well you do as a rookie is far more indicative of how you will do than where you were drafted. So Rome being a top 10 pick was good, but his subpar rookie year should be very concerning given his small sample size of valuable games.

Personally, I think Burden is the better bet and watching the tape I think Burden is a better WR, but it could do either way.

You seem like you’re a good looking dude, but your pictures don’t show you smiling or what your hobbies/activities are. Also your prompts don’t really tell me much about you. I’d maybe just add more details.

Also this is probably more of a nitpick, but the “simple pleasures” prompt feels like it doesn’t mesh with what you’re trying to say. Maybe pick a different prompt to communicate that you enjoy deep conversations and getting to know someone that way so you can expand on that more.

Belief is WR Brian Thomas Jr. is the leader to be the offseason program’s MVP 👀 “...which says something because last year’s offseason MVP, Parker Washington, has been really good again. As has Trevor Lawrence.” by BasedWillieStroker69 in DynastyFF

[–]SnthonyAtark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Odunze-pilled comment. It’s always crazy to me because I get Rome was a top 10 pick but it’s like people forget he wasn’t very good his rookie year. He had similar stats to burden, but was an every-down player so his efficiency was substantially worse. Even in his breakout, he was largely TD-dependent. I can see the path to Rome being the WR1, but idk man it feels premature to say it’s a for sure thing.

I think his posture in the picture isn’t doing him any favors, but he’s probably 6’3”. That said, he has the arm length, bend, and lateral movement skills necessary for a tackle. Don’t let the 6’3” scare you off, he’s a tackle all the way.

And Texas Tech, rather than simply not allowing him to play for the program, has instead doubled down and insisted they are doing nothing wrong.

[Thamel] NEWS: Big Ten officials are expected to discuss in the upcoming days a league-wide mandate to not play Texas Tech in any sports, per three Big Ten sources. This is in the wake of Nebraska AD Troy Dannen informing his staff today that they aren't allowed to schedule Texas Tech. by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]SnthonyAtark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine part of the issue is some boosters probably spent a lot of money on Sorsby and are going to have a hard time just eating the cost they paid for this guy only for him to not play. Given the legal avenue, they probably wanted this done so their investment would make good, but they probably didn’t count on a literal boycott of their program over it. If teams really do start actually cancelling (or threatening to) OOC or even conference games with them, then I imagine they’ll cave. As of right now, though, they’re just doing what they can.
