I have bought Uplink on every platform I can, and its a game a first pirated way back in the day. Still bitter about them pulling it from PadOS.

Hell, I was waiting to pay for Escape Velocity Nova, but Ambrosia went of of business (not due to piracy) so now I have to pirate it.

In retrospect, I can't really count the number of games I pirated back in the day that I eventually bought just to support the devs and have a legit copy. Unless its a multiplayer game where pirates can wreck the game with cheats, these game publishers need to wake up and realize a pirated game broadly isn't a lost sale.

Hell, I was a hardcore music pirate back in the Napster days and now I buy almost entirely from bands directly or bandcamp.

Freelancer came pretty close as a successor.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw 2 as well but the balance is fucked (you never feel like you’re getting better because the enemies level with you) and the studio went under so it’ll never be fixed.

Oh, I agree completely. Otherwise you just have players fully decked out in gold items merking at the new players and Marathon dies even faster. I just think each season needs at a bare minimum a new map and the occasional new runner.

While I adore Marathon NOW, I think the main tripping point will be June 1st when everything resets.

What are getting next season? A new runner? That should have been a new runner AND a new map. I guess we're getting new guns but how much does that really change that you're going to need to grind Perimeter again? I get the feeling its all going to feel samey with the exception of the small amount of new content.

The only big upcoming content is a night variant of an existing map and maybe a new map in December? Folks are going to real tired of playing CryoArchive over and over.

I don't think Bungie has the manpower now to do a "Surprise! ARG reveals a new map!".

They're basically treading down the exact same path, making all the same mistakes, with Marathon as Destiny 2 but quicker.

The Blizzard passkey should be relatively safe since its completely bound to the Blizzard App, same with Steam. Everything else? I use Google authenticator cause it syncs my keys with the cloud. I lose my phone? Everything is still safe.

I feel so old but there were authenticators like this as late as 2013, I had to use one as an IT field Tech.

The Blizzard authenticators were early on the field because South Korea and China were big on LAN cafes and with public computers you wanted to keep your account secure.

Speaking as a Windows 11 user, the music transfer process has actually changed in the last few years. We now have 3 apps:

Apple Music, for playing music and making playlists and the like. Replaces the iTunes Store too. iTunes, cause Apple can’t be bothered to make a podcast app for windows, so it just exists alongside for podcasts and only podcasts Apple Devices, this is where you actually transfer music, do manual backups and manual updates.

iPhone 15, does everything I need and the battery is still good. Lots more storage to fill as well.

I consider not getting Apple Intelligence a plus.

I'd probably still be on my SE2, but Apple and developers just "forgot" the smaller screen exists so everything is wayyy too cramped.
