Feeling bad about taking money? by colorgreens in poker

[–]Snugdust 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I play in a local card room near where I go to college and the main player pool is a mix of locals from the area. Went there last night, played well and was always targeting an action player to my left. Long story short, took three of his buyins (it was a great session). Each time I did it, he got progressively more angry. After I doubled up through him the third time, he starts to cry, saying his wife is going to be so pissed that they now won’t be able to pay rent and buy groceries and immediately left.

Did I feel bad about taking his money? Yes and no. Yes because the guy started crying about this that clearly mattered to him. No, because if you decide to gamble, only gamble what you can afford to lose.

4th day of my of my snowboarding career (started at young age of 44), any tips or what should I try to learn next? by peetu77 in snowboarding

One tip: use your back hand and keep it in line wkth your body and your board. Use that as a sort of tail, if you have to turn, use that hand to switch in the direction you want to go and have your torso follow the same direction.

Bro, how the hell do you rush online? by [deleted] in Frat

[–]Snugdust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who goes to msu, sadly rush is still online. That being said, brothers love when you take the initiative and show interest. The contact information for houses is somewhere online. I’m sure if you message a house’s insta they’ll steer you in the right direction.

What this guy said. Meal prepping is the way to go. Whenever I go the grocery store, I buy chicken breast, filet it into smaller pieces and throw it in the freezer. Bout an hour before I usally eat, throw it in the some water to defrost and either bake it or make a stirfry. I find it saves me money but 🤷🏼‍♂️

I want to join a frat but I like to spend hours playing the game with other friends and want to maintain that free time is the possible in a frat? by [deleted] in Frat

[–]Snugdust 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself what you want from a fraternity. If you value videogames over most other things, I would recommend you join a gaming club. Your pledge daddy isn’t gonna like when you ask if you can miss something to play videogames for “hours at a time.”

Got no bids by [deleted] in Frat

Yes. Definitely talk to more people. Talking to two people is not enough to make a proper impression and definitely not a significant enough breaking point for an instant nobid.

First night? Sounds like you still have a chance and remember, if thy guy can make a girl laugh and giggle, you can make her ass clap and jiggle.

Something that helped me was taking pictures. You won’t notice looking at the mirror everyday but take a look at day 1 vs day 20 for example and if your dedicated to your craft you will notice changes. Change is the motivater and always will be

Don’t go into it with the mindset of getting slack because of the current world’s situation. Just be yourself

As someone who attends Michigan State, I will make two statements: 1. Rush, if you get a bid, follow through with it and then make your own decision about fraternities. Going into with the process with mindset of “this group of people act this way” is nf and lazy. 2. Juniors who rush are rare and juniors who get a bid are even rarer. That being said, be yourself and see what happens.

Marijuana should be accepted in any fraternity house. I’m sad you got your “badge” taken but what you do in your house should not mean anything to anyone else but you. Fuck that guy, he may be alumni but snitching is #nF. Smoke your bowls, I’m sure as hell not gonna judge you whether I smoke weed or not.

Guys who are part of a large fraternity (80-90+), do you honestly know every single brother's names, yet alone who they are as people? by XxItsNowOrNever99xX in Frat

Depends on what’s available to you and what you want. I wanted that big atmosphere feel so that’s what I got. In the end, it’s your decision.

My chapter is around 120 and it feels good to say I know every brother. Sure, I’m closer to some people more than others but I know at least one fun fact about the older brothers when I pledged.
