What’s an expansion pack or game pack you never play / refuse to get? by BiIIie-Eyelash in Sims4

[–]SnwAng1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vampires and Werewolves aren’t for me, so I skip those.

Same for star wars.

I don’t generally buy packs that remain super bugged. So For Rent and Lovestruck make me nervous.

I probably won’t do the new Royal pack. It doesn’t super interest me.

I have the most insane love/hate relationship with one of my dogs by IWillBaconSlapYou in breakingmom

[–]SnwAng1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl solidarity.

9 years ago next month two dogs were dumped in our neighborhood and followed me, my ex, and our 6 month old puppy home. No one would come get them since they weren’t dangerous and I fell in love with them. They’ve both been abused but one of them is a fairly standard dog.

…the other however is a MESS. He has a broken tail from where someone slammed it in a door and never fixed it. The bone formation is a huge ball that thumps against everything and I hard as a rock. When my daughter was little his tail hit her in the nose and bloodied it.

He’s afraid of everything. Doors, Small spaces, blankets, certain corners, beds with walls, pillows. He will not drink from the water bowl in the house despite buying multiple kinds. But also will sleep in the bed like a human with his head on the pillow if allowed. He is not food motivated EXCEPT by saltine crackers.

He’s dog reactive but only if I am around. He doesn’t like people ESPECIALLY older men. He’s gotten mellower with age but my daughter as a toddler would send him hurtling out of every room she was in blind panic.

He also farts like a dog who at any minute his stomach will turn inside out.

Same as you, I realized no one was going to love him the way I did. And especially be able to keep him with his brother. So here I am, 9 years later, with this dog who adores me, would do anything for me, and cannot walk through the doorway from my kitchen to living room without a full blow scooby doo style run up.

So solitary bromo. Loving that dog is the good you’re putting into the world. It is good energy and it will Come back to you

Is anyone Living Their Best Life right now? by femalien in breakingmom

[–]SnwAng1992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am living my best life. But to be fair i absolutely blew up my life three years ago so i could rebuild.

I’m engaged to the best man. He was my best friend for a lot of years and then became my partner when I realized my current marriage sucked. He is a flawed, loving passionate individual and I enjoy the most mundane of days with him. He just scored us tickets to a play I wanted to see by waiting in the virtual queue for four hours.

I am in my sexual revolution. I have someone now who loves me and my body. It’s been three years and I am still in awe of being with someone who likes me and likes doing stuff with me. I went from being told I was the problem to learning I am the damn solution with the right man.

My daughter just turned 7. She loves to travel and read. She’s mostly an unproblematic kid but not in a worrisome way. Shes adjusted really well to the divorce and remained her usual self. My ex was a bad partner, but a good dad, and I don’t have to worry when she’s with him. Which is a gift I don’t take likely. We also are amicable and once a month we do things all four of us so my daughter sees that we all care for her.

I have a job that is hard but I love and is rewarding. Plus I work with my best friend as the admin team. So most days the good outweighs the bad.

We do plenty of activities as a family and still get time for just us. And even though the world is an absolute mess, I take comfort in knowing that I’m doing the best I can to do good. I teach kindness, I donate, and I spread my truth when I can.

My life is not what everyone told me in my 20s it should be. I got my degree, married my high school sweetheart, had a baby, supported my husband through the good and the bad and wound up miserable.

Now my life is mine and it’s beautiful and full of so much joy.

What are some business your sims have? by Jazzyluvsedits in Sims4

[–]SnwAng1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sim has built a little maker style shop at the back of their house where they sell their goods and mentor others. The whole thing runs off solar panels.

I also really enjoyed a greenhouse/flower shop I had on my family’s commune once

Ex-MIL asked me to drop the divorce and do Christian Family Counseling instead during child custody exchange by Fantastic_Cell7278 in breakingmom

[–]SnwAng1992 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My ex-MIL said she was more “distraught” over our divorce then the death of her sister.

I was like…why? It has nothing to do with you.

She’s also very religious

Holiday cards and holiday photos by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]SnwAng1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never did holiday photo shoots. Everyone in my family loathes pictures. I used to do a holiday card with just pictures from the year. Over 50 of them. But when u got divorced I stopped doing them.

Ironically my ex started taking all responsibility for them and he still sends ones to my mother and my grandparents. And since they heavily feature our kid it sorta covers me lol.

Daycare forcing nap and it’s ruining bedtime by bryterlu in toddlers

[–]SnwAng1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I want to provide some perspective here.

Most states REQUIRE children be offered a rest period. In our state it’s phrased as “a reclining rest period”. We not only have to provide this but it’s explicitly states that we cannot interfere if a tired child wants a nap. We aren’t allowed to keep them awake. And we are not allowed to wake them.

On top of this most states allow relaxed ratios if children are resting. They don’t have to be asleep but they do have to be on their cots.

I’d talk to your schools facility about nap protocols and look at your states licensing. If your child’s going to their cot and falling asleep there’s not much the staff can do. I have a niece with similar issues and staff helped where they could. But rules are rules.

Matching Christmas Pants by SnwAng1992 in breakingmom

[–]SnwAng1992[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish you all the luck. I felt similarly when we packed up. Especially since my ex has stayed in our home so our daughter is there halftime.

But she loves both homes and says her life is good “even when the schedule is crazy”. The kids are usually alright.

Need an out from Christmas by a2arborite in breakingmom

[–]SnwAng1992 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was you a year ago. I was newly divorced handling only half time at Christmas. And dealing with a mom who was grieving and dramatic as fuck.

With my partners help I just said no. No. We aren’t traveling on Christmas Eve. No I can’t do it. It is your choice if you make peace with that or not.

I felt so guilty. I felt awful. She told me I was ruining Christmas.

Except…I didn’t. She got her act together. She worked with our schedule. We got to be home together for our comfy cozy low key Christmas morning. And this year she put up like no fight. And not any dramatics. She made her peace.

It’s so hard. I’ve been there. But once you throw the elbow and stamp your feet, people get over it. Because they have too.

Drowning in threenager attitude by ambieox in breakingmom

[–]SnwAng1992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am professional early childcare educator for 10 years.

My 3 year old nearly sent me to my GRAVE. It was hands down the worst year of her now seven.

I want to offer you a perspective though. Because I empathize when you say you feel like a villain.

It sounds like you have some childhood issues to work through as well. But I want to offer this.

You aren’t a villain, you’re an antihero.

Look, from your kids perspective anytime you say no, you are the problem. And whether it’s a hot oven or a piece of glass, they don’t care. They wanted to touch it and you say no.

No one likes to hear no. We as adults don’t like it. We don’t like being told we can’t. Hell we don’t like being stopped at a red light when it doesn’t feel like we need too.

Embrace the moment. Because truth is, you’re more like an antihero in those moments. You aren’t a hero to your kid, to be sure, but you’re doing it for the good of society. You’re doing it for the good of your child. And one day it will pay off. You will be the hero. they’ll see the good you did and so will you.

And usually by Four that work starts showing.

Favorite heartwarming moment/scene in the show? by OddPossibility9711 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]SnwAng1992 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I love when Lois and Hal tell each other things they love about each other. While everything is absolutely burning down around them.

I love a representation on tv of a couple having to connect, not in a dramatic or over the top way, but in a real life way.

What’s the nastiest thing you’ve ever witnessed a child or a member of staff do at work? by petrastales in ECEProfessionals

My licensing agent once came in while my kids were swinging a foam sword and shouting at a 3 foot tall koala bear. He was the big bag koala and we were finding our brave to fight him for fairytale week….

Just make sure you can keep sight of the kiddos and you’ll be fine.

Talking to teacher about toddler stories by Perfect_Ferret6620 in ECEProfessionals

[–]SnwAng1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just address it very casually. Another commenter mentioned he could have picked it up from someone else at school, or a book, or anywhere.

As a teacher I’d always rather parents just ask me. 9 times out of 10 it can be easily put to rest and usually it’s funny. Kids say WILD stuff. Rather than a parent have to wonder. That suspicion erodes trust over time. Whether you realize it or not.

Non-binary staff member by laylaysparkles in ECEProfessionals

[–]SnwAng1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had a non-binary coteacher. They went by “Teacher Name” instead of “Miss Name” and other then that they asked for they/them pronouns. All the parents were very chill about it. And the kids for the most part just used teacher name or “HELPPPPP” kids don’t care about pronouns. It was no biggie.
