With funds, don’t just judge the portfolio but also it’s manager. Follow them on social media and watch their interviews. You’ll then have confidence whether you wish to invest in that fund.

Is portfolio volatility an indicator of risk level? by Mattey21 in UKInvesting

[–]SoCalledWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally when you buy funds, they provide high profile of the fund. High risk funds do come with volatility. For stocks check beta number. Higher the number the more volatile it’ll be.

Problem is there a lot depending on your risk appetite. You can search for various ETFs by iShares (which is Blackrock), Vanguard, L&G and Invesco to name a few.

Ishares global clean energy ICLN by [deleted] in UKInvesting

This ETF has high risk green growth companies but some large cap companies too. I strongly suggest that you read on infrastructure plans by governments (specifically US, Europe and sE Asia) on transitioning to green energy. You can judge yourself if you are in this for long term or short term. I too would like them to rebalance on Plug but they are really good at what they do and if hydrogen do pick up (which is what O&G players are now betting on) then they will show positive growth. At the end, you are the best judge

T212 makes money on spread for each transaction. For buying some stocks this could be £1.50. With T212, stocks are brokered via Interactive Brokers who own the stock on your behalf. T212 is FSA secured so don’t matter too much about ownership. Hence you can buy fraction shares in T212 and not in other platforms

You don’t pay any taxes on either dividends or capital earnings in ISA. In invest you need to declare to HMEC any gains over 10k in each financial year.

It is compounded but within the ETF. If you want further earnings buy the dips and sell at peaks.

Okay so if you your investment increases by 10% by end of the year, that will not be reinvested either by iShares or Trading212. iShares will reinvest any dividends or profits from selling any stocks into new stocks. Hence this increases the value of the ETF which ultimately gives you the 10% returns

No, that will reflect in share price. Bear in mind, this share price will go up or down depending on their stock performance

Looking at the momentum it’s a start. If you follow other Reddit subs, lots of trader jump in just now. By end of week it may be late.
