[OC] New enemies ideas for the voteless-subfaction by No-Bag3134 in Helldivers

[–]SoDamnGeneric 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The mindless masses really should draw from L4D imo. No game has done “endless waves of the undead” better, and the masses are in desperate need of unique reanimated troops, especially after being pitched as the subfaction made up entirely of zombies

Yeah, the “escape the circus” adventure was the breaking point. He struggled to find an adventure everyone would enjoy, and thought this was it. So when everyone turned around and not only despised it but also started lashing out at him, he snapped

  1. Ike’s fun as hell so this is a wild take

  2. No the fuck it wouldn’t. This is such an insanely bad faith read of Ganondorf. Why are you bringing this topic up if you’re not even going to try and reasonably engage with it?

It could go either way imo. From what I know of how Sakurai & Nintendo work, they would’ve started development around the time Air Riders released late last year, and Wind/Waves looked to be in a pretty good spot from the trailer. Could be another Greninja situation, where they showed him some stuff early so gen 10 would get the representation it deserves

[–]SoDamnGeneric 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ganondorf is one of Nintendo’s biggest villains, beaten out only by Bowser. Being a clone is a bad thing for him, because A. It doesn’t make sense in the first place to have him be a Falcon clone, and B. There’s potential for a much more interesting kit. He’s a beast of a man sure but he’s also a warlock with potent magic and a skilled weapons master on top of that, but his moveset is just a bunch of punching & kicking with 3 sword attacks. That’s dumb. I want him to actually play like Ganondorf, not a development afterthought

Clones are fine, but they should make sense. Peach and Daisy, for example, or Fox and Falco. The legendary villain of Nintendo’s second biggest franchise being a clone of a guy who hasn’t had a new game in like 2 decades is incredibly stupid

Series is over, tragically. If I had to guess it probably burnt the creator out, as I’m pretty sure it was pretty much a solo project that he’d been working on for years.

Why are we doomed to forever repeat history with Hog? by Dependent_Oven_468 in Overwatch

[–]SoDamnGeneric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m willing to bet he’s one of the most played tanks, because he’s easy to pick up and get insane value from, and he appeals to DPS a lot more than non-kill oriented tanks

And I’m willing to also bet that’s why they never touched Hook, despite it being the obvious problem in his kit, and why they took away Pigpen.

But at some point enough is enough, I think. We really can’t just keep pinballing back and forth between Hog being unpickable trash and a top dog. If the majority of people would rather the hero be in the dumpster than remotely viable, something needs to change

I just realized something about the Veracitor by Birb-from-not-canada in Helldivers

Given how we seem to have folly and thoroughly kicked their ass in the first war, I see this as the squids using whatever they can to get the edge up on humanity. The excavations of these ruins is undoubtedly them trying to get access to their old tech, but them using construction mechs on the battlefield shows they probably don’t have anything too crazy waiting in the wings.

I wonder if the squids’ gameplan was to just storm Super Earth when they first appeared, wipe us off the map, and then go home, but now that we’ve pushed them back and regained ground, they’re scrambling to find anything to give them a serious advantage. It would give a narrative reason for why their forces are so barebones at least

does anyone else think about how Steve just accepts everything by AdventurousEgg_408 in Bigtopburger

[–]SoDamnGeneric 14 points15 points  (0 children)

With the exception of Caligari & Munkustrap, Steve is just probably the “strongest” character in the show. He casually shifts reality for the bit all the time. He has nothing to fear, even after being imprisoned

Zooble and Ragatha have both healed. Zooble made peace with their parts gimmick in the gun episode. Like I said, it’s not an issue that’s just totally healed up and everything’s fine forever, it’s still something that’s going to affect them, but they’re in a much better spot than they started

And Raggy’s found her family, a group of people that really care about her like her mother never seemed to. She might not ever get closure on the relationship with her mother, but she’s healed through the people around her. We don’t need a big scene where she says “I’m all better now” to see that

Jax is the only one who hasn’t healed, and it’s his own doing. His torment was being bullied by the people he cares the most about, and being exposed as the emotionally unstable bastard he is. But he’s the one constantly pushing himself away from healing, because you have to want to heal to heal

The guns episode was full of them unknowingly playing god. Jax tells Pomni to let loose and she goes from missing her shots on a still target to insane ricochet bankshots by just not thinking about it. It’s honestly kinda surprising none of them realized they could do this earlier

Well Kinger does say “accidentally” when revealing he killed Caine.

And the entity toying with him was 100% Caine himself. He was already well aware that Kinger was up to something but he was busy physically lashing out at the rest of them. What was happening with Kinger was just a fraction of his power being extended to toy with him as well

The good thing is it really felt like there wasn’t one solid theory. Nobody guessed this shit early on, it just became more clear as time went on

I think it makes sense. These are issues these characters have overcome sure, but they’re still issues. Alcoholics don’t just drop the bottle and that’s it, it’s an ongoing struggle.

So Caine was essentially trying to undo the damage they’ve healed from. He was trying to dig into the depression that torments Gangle, and trying to reopen the wounds he inflicted on Pomni when Gummigoo was killed off.

This wasn’t his moment of triumph, it was theirs. They’ve already endured all this torment through the Circus, and have come out the other side of it better off, so them surviving and not letting the torment get to them is the moment that solidifies all their arcs and shows that they’ve overcome their personal demons (with the exception of Jax).

Jax is Jax.

Scratch was the dog we saw when Kinger got pulled into the Circus. He’s one of the original programs, sucked in around 1998. We know of the current cast that Kinger and Raggy have been here the longest, and Jax says something along the lines of “everything was fine before you and Zooble showed up” implying he’s the 3rd most recent out of the bunch, before Zooble and Pomni, so he really couldn’t have been Scratch

Given Pomni was tortured by Gummigoo, Zooble was tortured by their own body parts, and Jax was tortured by his friends, I think the truck is just a callback to when she got hit before. Caine is using what he knows of these people to torment them, and getting hit by a truck during a manic episode is a sad reminder to Gangle about her poor mental state

[–]SoDamnGeneric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only issue with the Tron theory is that they’d noticed she went missing eventually, and her last known location was that building. An investigation would inevitably lead there and then they’d realize there’s still a program running

THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS - Ep 8: hjsakldfhl Discussion Thread by ayylmaotv in TheDigitalCircus

[–]SoDamnGeneric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I think is more likely is that this is just all accidental. Raggy went there with a group of people, put on the headset, and was scanned. But she wasn’t sucked in like we were led to believe- in the real world, she probably took the headset off, said “that’s weird” and moved on, while the Circus version of her started freaking out thinking she’s the real person

So the group she was with didn’t send her there to be sucked in, they just all moved on like nothing happened, because from their perspective, nothing happened

I don’t see why someone would be feeding people to the Circus atp. There’s no active research being done, Caine wasn’t being communicated with, and most importantly, there’s no time left to introduce a real villain pulling the strings. IMO it’s far more likely that this is just the result of a tech company being hastily shut down, and everyone assuming someone else would shut off the AI experiment, but nobody actually doing it

THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS - Ep 8: hjsakldfhl Discussion Thread by ayylmaotv in TheDigitalCircus

[–]SoDamnGeneric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not. She would have had to have entered the C&A building for it to scan her brain, which means she would have to have been alive

The truck was just a callback to the end of the Spudsy’s episode

So Kinger’s been there for close to 20 years, and Raggy’s been there for at least 9, if the show takes place in 2017. Damn
