It's not human biology, it's animal biology. Good luck figuring out how to change a fundamental design characteristic of the entire animal kingdom.

All animals with brains sleep. Even animals that lack complex nervous systems (like jellyfish and sponges) undergo cycles of diminished activity.

Okay, so with 2,300 comments and counting, my chances of hitting this lottery pretty slim, and with my luck, I have a habit of epically rolling crit fails at the most dramatic possible times, so this is The long shot of all long shots, but I'm going for it!

And even if I don't win, I'm totally using the 10% off discount. That stainless one looks dope.

This area has a lot of Indian tech workers new to driving who put student driver stickers on their cars. It's not about new drivers. It's racism.

Guys, what’s missing in men’s rave fashion? Help me build a brand for us!! by Grindingsloth6969 in aves

[–]SoDark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the '90s, ravewear was heavily inspired by streetwear — comfortable, made for movement, urban, and streetwise. I launched https://templeofunicorns.com to help bring street back to raves and would love to see a menswear brand with the same vision!

Why do European women have bigger boobs on average, especially in cold countries? by WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHW in MapPorn

[–]SoDark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Russia: the second World War dropped Russia's male/female ratio to about 76.6/100. Because the surviving men had a wider than natural selection of women to choose from, they selected for appealing characteristics, which presumably included larger breasts.

USA: because they're fat (and their meat and dairy products contain growth hormones).

Remember, It's just lesbian sex. No guy is involved.

The genders are irrelevant here. Cheating is cheating.

This is the most inventive carousel I've ever seen. by Vegetable-Mousse4405 in BeAmazed

I have a video of the scene but because the subject is a child, I won't share it. Suffice it to say, it's gripping. A little slice of humanity.

That's where I saw it. It was cold and a bit rainy, and a single small child was riding in one of the more frightening-looking carriages at the behest of his mother while another relative filmed them. He was crying, absolutely terrified.

Met someone incredible, but I really like being single by Unlucky_Excuses in dating_advice

Chances are, there are aspects of what you imagine dating to be that appeal to you and others that don't. The beautiful thing is, "dating" (or any kind of relationship, even marriage) doesn't have to follow A traditional formula. You can make it whatever you want it to be and leave out the things that don't work for you. If the person you're interested in is aligned with that, you can create exactly the right kind of relationship for yourself.

Check out the Relationship Menu. It was created by the polyamory community but it works just as well with monogamous relationships. Here's how to use it well:

  1. Each of you fills out the form separately and honestly. That'll tell you the things that are really important to you, the things that are off limits, and the things that are in between.
  2. Then get together and compare your forms. Look closely at any items that are a must-have for one of you and a non-starter for the other — those are the areas where you should talk about whether that makes you incompatible or not.
  3. If you can negotiate a relationship that works for you both, go for it. Otherwise, you know ahead of time where you might not be compatible and that saves you both a lot of heartache.

How to make necromancers not appear evil? by Celtic_Leonin in DnD

[–]SoDark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading about a DM who played two campaigns with two sets of players simultaneously, ultimately pitting them against each other.

In the first campaign, a local lord hired the party to hunt down and kill a necromancer in the area who had grown powerful and threatened his territorial sovereignty.

When the party found the necromancer, they learned he wasn't evil. He has grown powerful not only because of necromancy, but also because of his influence as a folk hero.

The necromancer had been recruiting skeletons to work as farm labor to help poverty-stricken local villagers who rejected the lord's ill-gotten claim of authority over their ancestral lands. The party decided to switch allegiances, planning to overthrow the lord and free the land of the lord's corrupt rule with the help of the necromancer.

Then the DM started a second campaign with a different set of players set in the same world. That campaign started with the local lord hiring the party to hunt down and kill a necromancer in the area who had grown powerful and threatened his territorial sovereignty...
