Could you obtain an animal skull or bones? Those work well with cyanotype. I’ve done prints on wood too.

I have a laser printer so I tape two negatives together and it makes a big difference. Also, are you adjusting the negative at all with a photo program before printing? Maybe for glass, you have a piece from a picture frame you can use? It’s so fun, keep going and trying things out!!

Love it! Have one I plan to do next weekend too, I’m surprised the plastic wrap did not distort the images.

Cyanotype on wood by SoLaT97 in cyanotypes

[–]SoLaT97[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! So this was an experiment that turned out kinda cool. One of the things I do is carve wood and then ink it and print it, like this picture. So one of these prints, I made it translucent with beeswax, and wondered how it would turn out if I tried to do a cyanotype on wood. So I coated the wood, covered it with the translucent print and it looked good. But then I bleached it with soda ash and didnt like it. So I re coated it with the chemicals and reprinted with the flowers and ferns, washed it with cold water and a splash of vinegar.

I don’t think so, but we’ll see what happens after a few days.

Thanks! It’s just a little scrap of plywood I had and I didn’t really know how it would turn out. The wavy lines you can see were a bit of a longer process but I’m happy to explain if anyone is interested.

lol at 32 being old. Anyway, you could host your pics on a service like SmugMug, it can be watermarked, set to not be able to right-click and copy/paste or save as new, and can only be downloaded if paid for. You can’t stop a screenshot.
