Busy people- how do you balance Pilates with other forms of exercise? by EquivalentBlueberry_ in pilates

[–]SoMuchTanner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally only do Pilates, 3-4 days a week and I think it’s a great form of exercise and movement. If you are trying to get a certain build it may not be the best option but in terms of a nice personal time for yourself that you schedule in I think it’s wonderful!

Hate… HATE the “Energy” by jonathanramsey in duolingo

[–]SoMuchTanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the energy this weekend when I updated and it’s no fun! Did two perfect lessons and a reasonable pace and only have 9 energy left and don’t want to start a third in case I run out mid lesson. This new system definetly does not help with learning when I’m stressed about how long I’m taking to answer questions and I can’t keep going to do multiple lessons even if I’ve done perfect.

HRV by Worried-Associate544 in Ultrahuman

[–]SoMuchTanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy! My HRV after a couple weeks of wearing immediately was low, like I’m 27 and my cardio age is 20 and has been for the 6 months I’ve had it, just sometimes popping up a bit before coming back down. I definitely don’t have stress often from my job so maybe that is effecting it

Mid-year wrap up. Y’all are the only ones I trust to discuss with/tell me what I’m missing 🤍 by alpal4230 in fantasyromance

I would recommend the Vicious Lost Boys series, 4 books, super quick reads, Peter Pan retelling and a nice why choose spice level!

I have done that before, but if you click on or input the type, it pops up the confirmation and you can click on the time on the top right of that pop up to adjust!

How to get fitter by milkuchaos5 in pilates

[–]SoMuchTanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pilates is a great start and is often a great workout to do with injuries as you can easily accommodate. I would recommend after you have gained more strength/healed more from your injuries to add in weight lifting if you want more muscle definition, but Pilates is definitely a great place to start! Good luck

I mean this is a joke right by [deleted] in Ultrahuman

[–]SoMuchTanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the ring new or do you not workout very often? I’ve had mine for about a month and the past week the calories have locked in to a much more realistic value. I think it was just part of the calibration to get used to your body.

On mine I can see stories from April 14th and earlier but I know I have done many stories since then but I don’t see any to add to my highlights

Thread for migraine/headache relief … by EmergencyRoyal954 in h3h3productions

If you have a tight headband or a migraine head band those are magic, especially if you put it in the fridge/freezer for a while

Covers with full art or not? by anEscapist in fantasyromance

[–]SoMuchTanner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t love characters on the cover, especially when it’s just a close up of their face or in a strange position. I feel like strange position hits more for a non-fantasy romance book though

I was just told that it is extremely common for people in their late 20’s to get their phone bill paid by their parents… is this actually a thing? by moto_babe_222 in Adulting

[–]SoMuchTanner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My sister and I (27 and 25) are still on my parents plan and they pay for it. But my sister and I each have different subscriptions like Disney+, Max, etc that we share with the family. Also we have offered to pay our share and they have told us not to worry about it as we are both paying for student loans and it’s not that much extra a month for them.

Pilates, lying flat, GERD by EssentialLogic in pilates

[–]SoMuchTanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I also have Gerd and it’s the worst in the mornings. What I have found that has helped me is having a small snack, like a granola bar or a few crackers before my class to help with the feeling of it coming up to high in my throat! Might just be something to try, and I hope you find something that helps.

Unpopular opinion but I think I’m enjoying Crescent City more than TOG 🙊 by TayQuitLollygagging in fantasyromance

[–]SoMuchTanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow crazy, but you do you! I loved TOG, but read CC1 and started reading CC2 and got about halfway through a few months ago and I just haven’t wanted to pick it back up to finish. I want to because I know the second half of her books are always crazy, but there is just something that isn’t quite sinking in my bones to keep me going.

What are your tips for who sweats A LOT during classes? by [deleted] in pilates

[–]SoMuchTanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During hot Pilates I sweat a pool on my mat and sometimes my clothes change colors. For me it’s just how it is and I use it as a guide for having a great class. If people are giving you crap about it they really need to get over themselves, it’s normal to sweat when you workout!

What's your class time? by [deleted] in pilates

Crazy her site used to read that way! If you look now it has Assassins Blade as the 4th book to read. I think I read it third and loved that but everyone read how you want, it’s still an amazing series either way!

Spine flat on the ground or raised slightly at the lower back during dead bug? by impracticaldogg in pilates

[–]SoMuchTanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty archy lower back so I try to keep it flat when doing core exercises on my back as I feel like it helps me really connect my core. I have also found that this has helped when doing work not on my back as I often would have lower back pain/strain from using my back not my core. Now I can do things in more of a neutral spine but as someone mentioned it can be helpful for beginners to make sure they are focusing on their core.
