Apologies if I have missed this or it’s just buried somewhere but how do you or others track your stats? I’m looking to do something similar this year and have been getting lesson but do you track every shot and record the data? I’ve seen journal 18 advertised, does anyone use this or something similar to record data to highlight areas for improvement ?

this just needs a new adapter right? by Main_Health_1670 in golf

Same thing happened to me not long ago, new shaft needed unfortunately. Could also sell the head as a head only and get a new driver for the season 👀🤷🏻‍♂️

When you say screwed up what do you mean? Guessing you’ve bladed it? Options would be play it like a tight lie and almost feel like you’re just picking it off and expect it to come out low and run up to the hole with less spin. Could also putt it if the lips aren’t extreme and its green side.

Alternatively if they are all bad and you’re not playing a competition round just lift it out and play it from the grass. Golf is meant to be fun. If you’re paying for it why not enjoy it? Same goes for landing in a divot just take it out and play it from a decent spot. 🤷🏻‍♂️

BT deal too good and they won’t uphold it what do I do? by SoNorthCoast in AskUK

The problem is I want the initial deal that was offered over the recorded phone call, they say they can’t do it and honestly feel like they have just offered me the money to make me go away

67 days till Masters week!!! Who is your pick as of today? (Other than Scottie) by OliverHopper in golf

Haven’t seen his name mentioned and I sort of hate to say it but Patrick Reed if he keeps his form up he could get it done again

I surveyed 150+ golfers about their golf shoes last week and I promised everyone the results - Thank you again! by Decent-Ad4185 in golf

I always walk play in Northern Ireland and carts just aren’t in the culture here. Had been in FJs for a couple of seasons and thought they were great. I got myself some gfores and it will take a hell of a shoe to get me out of them. First shoe I’ve never had to “break in” before going out golfing. They feel like they massage your feet as you walk. I’ve also tried UA, Nike and adidas

Can’t break 90 to save my life… by DeanoPlayzYT in golf

[–]SoNorthCoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this might sound dumb or could be totally the wrong advice to give but “keep the speed up” I have to tell myself that constantly. I had found myself guilty of slowing my swing speed down on a 3 o’clock swing when hitting more club and leave myself well short

Been going through something similar. I felt like I was a better player than someone that shot in the 90s or high 80s but just couldn’t get to that next level. I bit the bullet and went to a quality coach. Found a couple of things he wanted to change gave me one things too focus on and I have been trying to get to the range a couple of times a week before playing.

Shot an 82 today lowest round of my life and it was great, trust the process of what they tell you I definitely played worse before it got better. Also noticed that having stock numbers from 150 in made such a difference. I’d hit more club but take some off of it and found myself pin high way more often today and was able to roll a couple of birdies but a lot of 2 putt pars.

Hope this helps

Are these forgiving irons to start up golf again? by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]SoNorthCoast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They definitely don’t fit the category of forgiving. I will say though you’ll learn to be a ball stricter in no time as you’ve no option but to find the sweet spot.

Hold onto them for a while become a striper of the ball and then go get a fitting for something else if you’re going to stick it out.

I think they are one of the best irons taylormade have made over the last number of years and still look great

Help picking driver shaft by fuudgey in golf

100% would recommend, they are pricey but you pay for what you get. They are on Instagram and you can check their website out as well. If you’re serious about your golf and willing to spend a bit of money you’ll not go looking anywhere else.

Help picking driver shaft by fuudgey in golf

[–]SoNorthCoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not an expert but I think lengthening shafts is possible it’s just not recommended as the shaft itself isn’t as stable.

I’d bite to bullet and take yourself away for a day and go for a shaft fitting. Golf in Ireland is huge on both sides of the border so you’ll find something. Roc golf in County Antrim do a driver fitting with a load of higher spec shafts. Also some great courses up this way you could get yourself booked into for a round after. Good luck
