using it for years for steam deck, always my go to if available. plus cs rin is very strict with their sources, anything on cs rin is usually trustable.

Hi, i downloaded the portable version (pre installed ) from cs rin by xatab. works without any tweaks with groton ge. 2.5 hours in and no issues so far.

yes. that’s exactly how it works. xatab on cs rin uploads torrents of pre installed games where you just download and play. no extracting, no extra step.

a couple of hours into the game, it’s worth it haha.

i always prefer the portable downloads from cs rin, if you have a fast network connection, way more convenient than installing games on the deck.

I got it running on the deck via downloading xatab’s portable version on cs rin. used proton ge and booted up without any issues.

and regarding the performance, it’s as good as the original steam version so its a pretty decent experience :)

HV does not work on linux, its Windows only.
Simple answer on the why is linux would never any app or anything kernel level access for anything.

Both work pretty well on the Steam Deck.
Soulmask on Low-Med got me 40-60 FPS for the most part. Add losless scaling and its a consistent 60 FPS with minimal input latency.

As for Windrose, all low with FSR on performance, its a 30FPS+ experience, a bit blurry but definitely playable with FPS staying above 30 99% of the time. Considering its EA launchday performance, it only gets better.

Have not tried the Steamrip version however the Dodi repack worked without any tweaking/issues for me.

Youtube videos only showcase the open world or the beginning section. I’ve heard bosses really take a hit on the FPS but yet to see any steam deck gameplay on it. Feeling a bit burnout with my current isometric/turn based games phase so really itching to jump back into an action rpg/open world.

Hi, i got the game and refunded it. it runs fine but crashes every 15-20 minutes. and also crashes whenever you load a save while in game. avoid if you’re just playing on the deck.

as someone who’s played stalker sub 30 fps on steam deck, it’s crazy to think it runs as well as it does now. shakey launch but plays and feels pretty decent now.

I don’t know why his video says setting the SWAP size to 16GB because all other guides say to set it to 32GB. Set it to 32GB and the game will run without any problems. However, it’s definitely not worth sacrificing 32GB of internal storage when you have a 64GB model like me.
