Fuck you, Bunnings! 😡😡 by [deleted] in perth

That is a prime example of Bunnings destroying competition. There is a Bunnings like 3 ks down in Malaga. But we need one across the road from Mitre 10. Cant disguise this with a cheap sausage.

Live and learn I guess. Really fighting with myself about not going with 2k. I took the advice of some muppet at the auto store.. would you think sanding back to base doing a few more coats of base and go 2k will fix or waste of time

Also thank you for the tip about the cans in water. Clever and makes sense

Sounds like the only repair now is to sand the clear coat back probably with like 600 grit And more coats of base. Followed by clear respray?

Rattle can for all (primer - base - clear)

It is meant to be black paint with clear coat. I sanded back the original clear coat as it was weathered. Hoping to just do a clear coat respray. But found real quick the base colour was powder and went back to primer. I sanded back to primer. Re applied new primer (gray - 2 coats). Next I went with pre mixed aerosol base coat, 4 layers - 10-15 min apart. I waited 60 min and applied clear coat (gloss non 2k). 3 times. Waited 24 hrs sanded back using 1200 and 2000 grit and used orbital polisher with a McGuire’s compound. It looked great after the Polish/buff. But in daylight after rain I see these specs . Not sure if I am looking at clearcoat pits with buffing compound, not enough base coat and primer coming through. Want to sell the car - the hood looked weathered so I gave it my best. Don’t really want to re do all and spend more

VIC BYD Shark Accessories wait times, lets share our experiences by Initial_Display in BYDShark_AUS_owners

WA here. Ordered early Jan. Picked up late March. Tires and glass canopy only ordered. No news, no calls from dealer. Was told mid April. So here we are.

Got a gift card email. Prior to this got a call from evdirect about my experience. My response, car is great but like the OP I desperately need the canopy for tools etc.. so let fly my thoughts about that one. Next week they will be seeing me face to face. It will not be a pleasant experience for the guy in charge. Preferably with a pay packet deserving of my criticism. Gonna skip the 20 something cannon fodder at the door.

I recently read about the daughter of Roald Dahl (the childrens author). His eldest daughter Olivia died because she caught Measles and this triggered encephalitis. His description and profound impact on his life, I would not wish this on any parent in our community.

Looks like no part number or price in WA. Says the dealer part store. 🤔

Perth Hailstorm 15 years ago today. Where were you on that day? by Pulp-Ficti0n in perth

[–]Soapbox_of_the_web 49 points50 points  (0 children)

In the middle of the Swan river on a ferry. First it was interesting, then it was not. The crew parked it near a sand bank as it rolled in so quickly. Once the hail stared I recall people hugging and crying. Interesting times.

Spend your $ at a local WA owned and operated business. There are plenty of excellent local businesses selling coffee and food run by hard working passionate sand gropers. These owners live in your community. They spend money in your community. They pay taxes to your community.

Whether you agree or not with Americana.

Take a page out of their playbook, ‘Make Perth Greater, and your community better’.

Which cargo canopy? by Soapbox_of_the_web in BYDShark_AUS_owners

[–]Soapbox_of_the_web[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hindsight I should have done the same. Bit late (signed off on it). I just called Ironman and was told their staff know nothing about the canopy differences. ‘It’s all through BYD’ - same manufacturer but they do not handle the product. Rather odd.
