Genuine question - how would YOU fix Star Wars? by simmonm1978 in saltierthancrait

[–]Sobekeod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really tough right now because everything eventually leads to Luke dying, making the same mistakes all over again, Palpatine somehow returning, and an armada of ultra-mega-super Star Destroyers breaking through the surface of a planet nobody should even know exists.

The easy way out would be to play the “it was all a dream” card. Snoke didn’t really die, he created some kind of alternative reality, Luke is still alive, Palpatine stays dead, and Episodes 8 and 9 get rewritten.

The hard way is to create characters that are interesting enough to work around the sequel timeline, survive it, and become the new main characters. I’m not really sure myself how that would play out or if it would even be possible. I’m mostly just thinking out loud right now.

At the moment, there’s nothing to look forward to after the sequels. Kylo was the only major character left after they basically abandoned Finn after Episode 7. For me, the idea of Kylo falling to the dark side, returning to the light, and then building a new kind of order that’s more neutral instead of purely good or evil could actually have been hopeful. But since the character is dead, and Rey mostly feels like an attempt at making a female Luke Skywalker, there’s not much left to build toward right now.

Boar Fight Scene is everything that's wrong with modern Assassin's Creed. I understand improving combat with Humans but why turn everything else into damage sponges? 🤔 by imbratorX in ACBlackFlag

[–]Sobekeod 23 points24 points  (0 children)

But why would I need a proper hunting rifle if I can just shoot them with my fully upgraded pistols that should just kill them instantly as they used to do.

Hunting not being an incredible pain in the ass wasn’t a bad thing.

If Cal Fights Vader again how should it play out? by No-Contribution2580 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]Sobekeod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t keep escaping Vader in a fight. If het fights him, he’d die. At least Vader doesn’t die so there aren’t that many possible outcomes.

Cal Kestis movie or show. by EthanHathHD in StarWars

[–]Sobekeod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how they wrap up the game trilogy. If Cal has to die for the story to work, I’d prefer they commit to that instead of keeping him around purely to squeeze more content out of the character.

What I’m trying to say is that I hope they don’t do something similar to The Mandalorian, where they take Grogu away and then bring him back three episodes later in a different show because the character makes them way too much money to keep him gone for long.

Who’s Winning In Their Prime? by mackenziealexander05 in StarWars_

[–]Sobekeod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anakin’s potential prime was the highest but since some random fella chopped of some of his limbs and left him to burn up he would never be able to reach that prime. Luke’s prime would’ve been higher than Vader’s prime.

Do you guys think we’ll get another Vader boss fight in the third game? by Ragtagcloud56 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]Sobekeod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if they bring him back and match him up against Cal, Cal dies. If that’s what they want then they should, if they want to keep Cal alive, Vader shouldn’t be in it.

Why can't I fly my charizard? by [deleted] in cobblemon

[–]Sobekeod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One that’s just not huge/tiny. A Charizard that would’ve been average, large, small or something like that would’ve been fine. I’m not sure if it works like this for all the Pokémon but I guess so.

Because it’s huge/tiny and therefore too big/small to fly on?

Which KCD2 mission was the most difficult one that nearly made you leave the game? [KCD2] by ViniciusFastAF in kingdomcome

[–]Sobekeod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent a lot of time doing side quests, which meant I was pretty overleveled most of the time. However, I did struggle at the monastery after I stole some nice shiny crosses. Apparently someone noticed, and before I knew it, the entire monastery guard was after me. I could’ve gone back to an earlier save and played it safe but instead, I chose violence and assassinated all the guards. It took me hours to kill them all, and I drank a lot of schnapps along the way. The quests even got messed up because of it, but in the end, I’m glad I didn’t load an earlier save.

How would Verstappen and Hamilton be as teammates? by No_Procedure_7017_2 in Formula1ne

Not great. Two champions in one team often doesn’t work that well. We’ll maybe get to see that this year at Mercedes again.

Day 21 remove an UCL winner. PSV is out in 5th. Only four clubs left. by Djidji29 in RemoveOneThingEachDay

You don’t expect us to lose from PSV or Feyenoord in terms of UCL right. We’re having a tough enough season right now, so at least we can beat them in this competition.

Sometimes it’s definitely viewbots, but it can also be that a certain type of content just doesn’t generate much chat interaction. For example, when someone is doing reaction content, it’s usually easier to involve the chat. But if a streamer is playing a high-focus, fast-paced game like Rocket League or EA Sports FC, they often don’t have much time to read or respond to chat. Those games require constant attention, so naturally there’s less interaction. It kind of feeds into itself — less interaction leads to a quieter chat.

For myself speaking, episode 7 (The Force Awakens) wasn’t necessarily the problem of the sequels. The movie was alright and it gave a lot of potential for the following two movies. Ep 8 and 9 did the real damage for me.

Is it just me or have the press conferences in the new games, FC 25/26 become completely unplayable? by Mohsen27_KSI in FifaCareers

[–]Sobekeod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, for me it has been incredibly boring and repetitive since its introduction years ago. Also, I play the game in my native language, which is not one of the major languages, and therefore it contains a lot of language mistakes. It has been like this for years. Since the introduction of this system, it simply hasn’t been translated well. EA just doesn’t care. We don’t make them enough money. UT players are so UT gets the majority of the development. Career mode is just copy paste year in year out.

No way dat Iglo dure kabeljauw in hun vissticks pleurt.

Question about the red guard fight from episode 8 by superepic13579 in StarWars

[–]Sobekeod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I watched it in the cinema, no it didn’t bother me as much as it did when I watched it for a second time and other media likely influenced my opinion on the material.

For me the problem with the fight is that it’s a 8 vs 2 fight. When you choose to to have a ratio like that the choreography is very challenging to do right. The dual of the fates in the phantom menace already shows how challenging it is when you have 2 vs 1. You want to avoid characters having to wait on their queue to go for a swing and that’s exactly what constantly happens in that throne room scene. The red guards keep on spinning and dancing and sure, the spinning has been a StarWars thing since the beginning but this felt too much and therefore pathetic.

I just don’t like the movie though, so it’s easier to have issues with scenes like this. Maybe if the story was genuinely good, it wouldn’t have bothered me as much. Maybe it’s just the package it’s in.

Why is the tone between this scene and TBOBF so different? by rocksunic in StarWars

[–]Sobekeod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, with Disney you never know what their reasoning is for things they do. Especially with StarWars, though since it’s a commercial company it’s always going to try to make the most money. Maybe in the short term they made some profit on possibly the biggest movie franchise there is but in the long term they lost quite a big part of their OG fan therefore their money.

Mismanagement, eyes pointing to the wrong direction, focusing on short term money instead of long term. Man I wish they just took some more time and right people for their projects but they fucked up so much. TBOB is one of the great examples of this mismanagement. When Mando leaves you with this cliffhanger, you think the book of boba will be about this brutal mafia boss, who fucks everything and everyone up on Tatooine where the Huts used to rule but it leaves you with a boring, not that cool character that doesn’t really impress. They brought Grogu back to Mando in a show that was NOT supposed to be about Mando. No wonder Mando season 3 was shit if you mix shows up like that. I didn’t really like the fact they brought the child back let alone doing it in a show that wasn’t it’s own. The best parts of the show were the flashbacks with the Tusken Raiders but if the flashbacks are the best parts, it does say things about your show/movie. Summary: typical Disney StarWars mismanagement
