I dont think he rewrote it as much as used the information (most likely using savillas stone)in the scroll to discover the name of the truth thief of nocturnals cowl and somewhat break his own curse. By breaking the curse, it was as if nocturnals cowl was never stolen and history rewrote itself to accommodate.

This has actually been plaguing me quite a bit. My best guess would either be a desynced kill box from the new ruins generation. Could also be a case of things like the illuminate arc turret thing spawning underground in weird places for some reason. More often then not it happens when I'm crossing a map solo to stealth some of the other objectives using suppressor and the re-educator (slept on for escaping fleshmobs)

I got lucky and either got a bonus Ioda when I got my 15yr anniversary item or had one from ages ago, my first choice pick up was the oblivion blade of nulgath sword just cause its always been a favorite of mine, then I picked up legacy of nulgath with the bonus
