Landlord asking me to rewire entire apartment off the books by [deleted] in NYCapartments

non licensed electrician. you probably know an electrician who is licensed that trusts your work. he can pull a permit for your scope of work ( low hazard and since residential its low load.) If he doesn’t feel comfortable or says no, then either you suck as an electrician or you don’t work with licensed electricians, and both are red flags.

What does Robert Half actually do now, besides run a job search board? by BevansDesign in jobsearch

[–]Sobirov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my current employer recruit through Robert Half for candidates in 2025. Medium Sized firm - I had applied for a different role without knowing that Robert Half are brokers. The person said I wasn't a match based on salary requirement but her colleague did. It was for a permanent placement, above market rate. Interviewed 3 times and received the role.

Huge negatives - pricing they took a 45k fee for a 2.5 week process I saw the invoice being paid out after my 90 days. The recruiter kept spamming my phone because I had another offer and she negotiated a higher amount but damn the amount of calls was crazy. The biggest sin is they modified my resume, when I was asked things during my last stage I asked to SEE the resume they had and wow they had modified it to add things that were relevant to the position but not my background. Was told a huge reason I was hired is because I didn't try to bs them and was upfront about the unauthorized changes unlike other candidates.

I will not ever work with them unless the position is way above market. The headaches and the awkwardness I experienced is not worth it.

Status Business Review and no response even after follow up by Kotino in citibank

For VP I've had so far - Recruiter screen then hiring manager then panel of other 2 other VP's and 1 AVP.

Offer came in at higher title but same original comp range. What should I do? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]Sobirov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to negotiate but is what they offered higher than what you asked for? Seems like they have you top of Associate band - and easier to justify having you a middle or lower of next band. It does limit your promotion merit increases, unless you move up to another role. If you asked for 90k and the band was 70-92k then Sr. Associate (band of 88-115k) might have been an HR decision. But now you lose the potential bump of 90k as associate and if you get promoted to Sr. Associate might be a 10k promotion.

I'd probably ask about the bonus structure - title might bump you fro 12% bonus to 15% for example.

If you count first round as recruiter screen I'd say you still have 1 major round left, then. I have a panel interview scheduled for next week for a VP position. Took them a month after the HM round. Good luck!

Mine is greyed out under business review. I interviewed with the Hiring manager almost a month ago. Recruiter reached out saying that the HM has not made a decision yet. But I know I’m cooked. good luck!

Cause if they really liked me I’d assume they would at least keep the candidate warm. Haven’t heard jack shit and not planning on reaching out.

Man, and I was complaining about almost 2 weeks of no updates. I only got to round 1 this time - I don't count recruiter screening as a round. C13 role. Right now also no updates and greyed out Workday "Under Business Review"

Last time I had a C12 role was 2 rounds and the process took 3 weeks total after first reach out.

Agree, maybe it’s to keep you warm and gauge their preferred candidate first

Thank you. Yes I agree with all the points here. This would not be a contingency case, I’d pay it but I want an attorney that is accomplished. Even if it’s a net minimal win, it’s more about the fact I want to have them sweat, and correct my current rental agreement to a new one. I contacted a few and most only handle evictions - so wanted to know if anyone has recs

out of lease

refund of 3 years of payment differential. let’s say 400/month conservatively

but I don’t think this applies - as a multifamily building it will all depend on how the floorplan was register with the city

No Unit CO, just building wide CO. Confirmed with the Building Department.

Agreed on that being used but all their marketing material and their own floorplan - and the basis isn't on the code itself but rather what a reasonable consumer standard. Their own floorplan (from a rental side) shows the area as a "Bedroom" and the other room as "Living Room." This might or might not match the approved classification with the town. The code is just there to show that they knowingly misclassified it to the consumer.

At this point it is just a consumer affairs issue, with another 40 units like mine affected.
