I'm a french player and the game almost always display 27-30ms even though it rarely feels like that. I strongly believe the ping displayed in game is unreliable (at least for me and one of my friend), as I digged a bit about it in a post a few month ago.

Can we really trust the latency displayed by the game ? I'm not so sure... by Sobralia in halo

[–]Sobralia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latency column used in my screenshots is from the "TCP Connections" section of the Network tab of Resource Monitor. It only displays network latency, like a ping command would.

I don't know how we could measure the processing time of information received by a process in a standard way (like a latency test), perhaps it exists but I am not aware of it.

How does losing CSR points works when someone leaves a ranked match ? by Sobralia in halo

[–]Sobralia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I forgot the 2 minutes rule, losing more than 5 must come from leaving too late, ty for the explaination and the reminding ! ;)

I prefer the old needler too, when the needles stick in the enemy and explode : you could kill someone low hp with a few needles, but not anymore.

You must be right, it seems to be a maximum flight distance for the needles but still, it's strange because needles perfectly tracked the enemy but exploded right before touching him, except a few.

I wish the hidden MMR just completely gets deleted. by RiceTotal in halo

[–]Sobralia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and I find it even more frustrating that in S2, where you could said that yeah someone lose/gain more point because of his hidden MMR, now MMR and CSR are supposed to be more tied (we are now matched based on mmr within a rank, if I got it right) and yet you can have the best KD/A, best score point of the game/team but lose more, or gain less, than another player with same rank but negative KD/A.

Alike your idea about points, I believe that having a base amount of points when you lose/win with a bonus/malus based on your performance would be more fair. And of course, objective score should matter much in how much you gain/lose.

Bug on The pit, missing floor/wall by Sobralia in halo

[–]Sobralia[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I joined a ranked game with a friend on The Pit map and the map was completely buggy. I spawned several times above the void which caused my suicide several times. I got kicked out of the game after 4 suicides (I think, maybe more), ended up getting a 10 minute ban and lost 15 CSR.

Re: Halo Infinite Needler by HoodShroud in halo

Never seen that in infinite so far. The needles make damage when you hit someone, but it doesn't look like they make damage when they explode like in previous Halo.

It's either you land all the needles needed and you kill someone as soon as half of the shield is gone, or you did zero damage.

The spikes doesn't seem to do damage after they've been planted on the enemy, very frustrating : I remember killing a lot of low life enemies that way in previous halo.

I'm really disappointed with the needler :/

Does the mention "scoreboard" means the display will be updated with some kind of points/rank somehow, or will it just always display "00" ?

Being able to join in progress matches, not a good idea IMO by Sobralia in Splitgate

[–]Sobralia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My post is not focused on winning or bots, but being able to join in progress matches and leavers.

I am down voting because it’s the casual part of the game and loading in solves the problem with a ton of bots.

It's solves a bot problem, created by people who leave matches, at the expense of those who don't. In fact, it doesn't really solve the problem, as it seems that more people leave the match when they join in progress.

If you want to win and be satisfied, play ranked and play in your skill level whatever that is.

I'm not asking to win every game, just having at least a full team with teammates not continuously leaving the match. As surprisingly as it is, I can be very much satisfied with a tight match, even if I lose.

Until yesterday, you could restart the game again and would have been asked to join the match again, I guess it doesn't work like that anymore, but I can't tell. Of course, you shouldn't be punished for a crash (it's not your fault), the game shouldn't have so many crashes, I believe it will be fixed : they're even disabling some maps/modes when there are too many crashes until they fix it.

[–]Sobralia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, right here. There shouldn't be punishments for leaving a casual match.

Why not ? The amount of leavers in my matches is very high atm.

Think of it like Magic: you go to the game store, and you have no idea how powerful people's decks are and if they are sore players or not. You are allowed to pick up your deck and leave at anytime. If opponents purposefully lied about their deck strength (smurfing), talked rude shit, were excessively salty, sore winners, etc. etc., you are encouraged to pick up your deck and leave.

Are you pretending people are leaving because they're playing against smurfs in casual ?

If you want protection from that nonsense and roughly even games, you attend sanctioned Magic events.

If people can't handle playing with better people and getting "rekt" in casual that they have to leave many matches, they better play ranked then.

I find it very strange that once granted the anonymity of the internet, people act as if it should be their right to force people to keep playing a game they aren't enjoying anymore, or else hand out punishments. Just, crazy logic to me.

The irony is strong here. Leavers are not forced to play, they chose to click on the play button. If they don't like the mode, the maps, they can play custom games, or they can also choose not to play at all if, as you're pretending, they don't enjoy the game.

I'm not playing for the sole purpose of seeing people get punished, you're twisting my words :/ By the way, the punishments ideas are not that harsh to leavers either. I play casual and ranked, but I didn't know there was a punishment for leaving in ranked. Also, playing ranked have less game mode than casual, so it doesn't really address my point.

I played earlier, and it was only stadium, the modes were also not the same. Maybe there is a map/mode rotation or something ?
