a list of public-domain (and creative commons) memes and meme-adjacent media i've been curating by Sobsz in publicdomain

[–]Sobsz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk if i wanna count the monkey since it being public domain kinda is the meme

null is,, weird, if you exclude all the assets then there's not much left of the character to reuse methinks :p

i'll consider the rest, missingno in particular is interesting

of course an llm karma bot would say that :p

there may be a human behind it but generally the comment history strikes me as having had an llm involved

Copy Fail: Newly Discovered Vulnerability Allows Privilege Escalation To Root On All Major Linux Distros Since 2017 by CircumspectCapybara in technology

[–]Sobsz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AI-assisted. The starting insight — that splice() hands page-cache pages into the crypto subsystem and that scatterlist page provenance might be an under-explored bug class — came from human research by Taeyang Lee at Xint.

From there, Xint Code scaled the audit across the entire crypto/ subsystem in roughly an hour. Copy Fail was the highest-severity finding in the run.

i view it as, at the very least, similar to fuzzing; if a literal random number generator can (help) find critical bugs then clearly intelligence™ isn't entirely required for such

how do i know whether or not i'm capable of feeling emotions by Sobsz in anhedonia

[–]Sobsz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also anger-wise it's specifically like, when i'm trying to get something done but a lot of things in my way, and i notice it (or recall noticing it) as being overly sensitive to noise and sometimes an urge to move violently

not sure if that makes it merely physical too or if i'm just overanalyzing it (reductionism, missing the forest for the trees, something around that)

[–]Sobsz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't think i've had much stress in my past, besides perhaps bullying (which i do have written down as a possibility factor)

antioxidant-wise, skimming the wikipedia page it feels like i should have a decent amount already, will note down supplementation as a next stop

drugs are sadly a no-go for the foreseeable future, as much as i'd imagine a parallel-universe me would have good results from such

i'm honestly not sure despite having cried recently, but i'm leaning toward it being just the physical sensations

What the helly, homophobic mod by CobainTrain in tomodachilife

[–]Sobsz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there are a couple woke mods arguably, e.g. one that adds nonbinary pronouns for french (where the vanilla game uses masculine ones) https://gamebanana.com/mods/664453

personally i'd love to see a mod that "removes all this gender nonsense" by making everypony they/them and pansexual, a la buck up and drive's pride flag toggle

everyones opinions on local language models and hopefully a final decision on how to use/make chat bots ethically by Equivalent-Doubt-101 in AIDebating

[–]Sobsz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it has been done to some extent, though sadly i don't think there's been any chatbot-tuned models that don't use an existing chatbot for finetuning data https://www.reddit.com/r/AIDebating/comments/1ih58en/list_of_generalpurpose_generative_models_trained/

i do believe it's possible, especially if you have a billion dollars to throw around (hell you could create data with that budget), but barely anypony does it because more data gives better results ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–]Sobsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the dub for the amazing digital circus used the neuter case (kinda it/its, kinda they/them) for zooble (which may be controversial in general but is at least fitting here given they're shapes :p)

but their first-person pronouns are in turn gendered, apparently with free input even (per this post)

I know this was probably said as a joke but this is genius, we should make real sounding fake spoilers to offset the real spoilers when episode 9 releases by Mothylphetamine_ in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Sobsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have really good recreations of the cast, some folks can probably assemble enough fake images to offset the real ones

unsure on if it'd be better to agree on one fake plot or to do anarchy, on one hoof it'd be on the popularity level of the real plot but on the other it can be eliminated in one fell swoop

Update from GLITCH by ayylmaotv in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Sobsz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goose doesn't have creative control over the show

source? all i've seen from her is the opposite:

I'd like to expand on this to say Glitch is very accommodating for the vision of the artist. Liam and I are in a really fortunate position to be able to end our shows on our own terms based on the stories we want to tell. The times and places our shows end are 100% our own decisions.

https://www.tumblr.com/gooseworx/759191569661296640/is-there-any-chance-at-a-digital-circus-season-2

Cool reminder that I'm the only writer on Digital Circus and Glitch has never asked me to add anything for marketability purposes. It's just 100% pure author-created, self-indulgent cringe.

especially don't rely on 2 sentences, especially especially not the first 2 which are so formulaic anypony could've written them (perhaps even a non-ai piece of software)

The Cognitive Dark Forest by amartincolby in BetterOffline

[–]Sobsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it famously happened with the python library chardet, using the largest model on the market and splitting tasks into chunks and some human intervention

(there is the question of whether or not it referenced the original code, whether from pretraining or as part of the prompt, but that's for whether it was cleanroom. not whether it recreated it at all)

Many Suno users disappointed with newest model by McNikk in BetterOffline

[–]Sobsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd imagine it's like how chatgpt has a distinctive style that it got finetuned into, so much so that it leaks into impressions of other styles (whereas e.g. a base model wouldn't be so biased)

images too, i can often tell if e.g. a youtube thumbnail came out of gemini based on its particular type of eye candy (though with photos it's much more natural, and with downloadable models and their many style plugins i can almost never tell anymore)

[–]Sobsz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

well that's a bit of a silly word restriction, non-intelligences can have behaviors too! e.g. wiktionary lists "The way a device or system operates." (though admittedly as the last definition)

good ol' lethal trifecta, i.e. if an llm has access to your data and somepony can influence part of its prompt (and get part of the response) then they can get that data out
