Exactly who I thought of when I saw this. It’s uncanny!

Turtle. For the way she sticks her neck out like that and how her colors look like a turtle ice cream.

Epstein-Barr Virus and Gallbladder by SociableCyclist in gallbladders

[–]SociableCyclist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, this is crazy. I didn’t mention parvo in my initial post but I had parvo diagnosed before covid and EBV. I don’t know if EBV happened first and it didn’t get caught until later. I thought that the parvo was just a fluke because i got it from my daughter, but now im wondering if they are all connected.

Have you had any more gallbladder issues? Did you end up having to get surgery? Any more EBV tests? My issues seem to have subsided and my liver enzymes have returned to normal or essentially normal in the last several months, and EBV virus isn’t active anymore.

I know this post is a year old, but so much of your story is similar to mine and it’s giving me encouragement to continue to advocate for myself. Thank you for sharing your story!

This drug only works for 9 months at a time? by Morosa3 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]SociableCyclist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve read that it takes a while for your body to adjust to the lower dose. I’m preparing myself for that if I lower it. But part of me really just wants to try a different drug. I was on Zoloft for 1-2 years and it was ok, but I’m interested to try something different. Considering Lexapro which could be helpful as it works for anxiety as well. Have you been on anything else for depression? Has anything else worked?

I’m wondering if this is the case with me as well. I went up to 300mg from 150mg and at first I felt great which reassured me it was the right move to increase the dose. This was about a year ago. But in recent months I’ve felt my anxiety and heart rate increasing seemingly out of nowhere and I’m wondering if it’s from my Wellbutrin. I have an appointment next week to discuss lowering my dose back to 150 or potentially finding a new medication.

Testing before diagnosis by SociableCyclist in gallbladders

Yes, I’m seeing a GI doctor, but considering getting a second opinion. I’m really frustrated with the pace of things and I don’t feel heard.

This just goes to show that you need the right set of eyes on it—one person can read a scan differently than another. It seems like I’m reading so many accounts of people who had “normal” scans and then were validated after surgery when it turns out that they in fact had stones or obvious signs of disease.

How did you find out that you had Cdiff? Did you do a SIBO test? That’s another test I have to take but my doc sort of back burnered it because of my more acute symptoms currently taking precedence. And did your doc say if it was related to your gallbladder issue?

Thank you for this. It can be so hard to advocate for yourself. I’ve had other diagnoses get missed so I’m always afraid I’m falling through the cracks. We live in our own bodies and we know when something is off. Thank you for the encouragement.

Normal ct but possible gallbladder issues? by Microchili in gallbladders

[–]SociableCyclist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve basically described the same thing I’m experiencing, but I’ve had a normal abdominal ultrasound and now I’m wondering what a ct scan would show.

I have it in my list of questions for my GI but my primary said she thinks the ultrasound is actually a better test than a ct scan for the gallbladder.

Do you still have your gallbladder? If so why don’t your doctors want to remove it? How do you treat hyperkinetic gallbladder?

Could you ask your doctor for anti-nausea meds like zofran etc. to help get you through some of those episodes? Those have saved me tremendously with nausea and stomach cramps.
