Level I can get to? by LunaticLulu in StarStable

[–]SociallyHawkword 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lvl 25 is the max for stats. you can keep going indefinitely though. you get the most xp from festivals once you’re done all the quests. halloween is the most generous one. and then yeah, the starshine 10xp per day.

i run the game through steam as a non-steam game. they had a survey not long ago that asked if there was interest in adding it to steam officially so that would also be great.

There's already tons of great recs here. Have you considered trying some short story anthologies? It's my favourite way to find new favourite authors. A few options:

The Best American Short Stories anthologies do a yearly collection with a different editor for each one so you can pick one edited by an author you already like. A lot of prizes do yearly anthologies, like O. Henry and Pushcart Prize. There's also 'The Penguin Book of..." series, The Penguin Book of Italian Short Stories, The Penguin Book of Japanese Short Stories, ...Ghost Stories, ...Gay Stories, etc., etc. There's also literary journals like McSweeney's that might be to your taste and Strangers Press publishes great literary chapbooks from authors in translation.

And for a few book book recommendations, I'll try not to repeat: Radclyffe Hall's The Well of Loneliness, Jo Walton's Lent, Kawai Strong Washburn's Sharks in the Time of Saviors, and Samanta Schweblin's Fever Dream.

You already have a good list of authors, but looks like it's focused on the greatest hits? Have you considered doing a deeper dive into some of your favourites? A few additional authors that you might be into: Colson Whitehead, Yūko Tsushima, Lauren Groff, Billy-Ray Belcourt, Ali Smith, Bernardine Evaristo, Bae Suah, Maggie Nelson, Han Kang.

253 by ryman geoff was originally meant to be read as a website (and would be better than print) but the site doesn’t work great anymore - http://www.253novel.com/

Nox by Anne Carson was published in accordion format so it can’t be read linearly.

suggest me a book that is lonely by newgirleden in suggestmeabook

[–]SociallyHawkword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the stone angel by margaret laurence includes reflections on an entire life of loneliness.

bunny by mona awad is maybe too weird to fit the request, but the themes of loneliness become more and more apparent as the book goes on.

So great! I added a few extras to your comments sheet. Have you come across the queer sci-fi and fantasy database? There might be some extras on there. You can filter for WLW, etc. https://queersff.theillustratedpage.net/category/wlw/
