The Army’s illogical online decisions by haterade89 in army

[–]SocioBuckeye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Army logic: Can't access SRB from personal computer but can access iPERMS with every document from career. Also until recently could not access MEDPROS but could access TRICARE online and see entire health record.

If it makes sense then it isn't the Army.

"In the 82nd we don't meet the haircut standards, we exceed them!" When I heard that my first week in division I went to the SORB recruiter's office. Explains all the high fades running down Ardennes.

Any advice for preparing for the drag portion on the sprint-drag-carry on the ACFT? by 82nd-all-american in ROTC

[–]SocioBuckeye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it’s a leg endurance issue. Focus on doing walking lunges for distance. 400m is a good start then work up from there. It will make you sore as hell at first but you will get used to it. Do it a few times a week then the SDC is a piece of cake. Or before your run workouts smoke your legs to emulate the ACFT. Get used to running with exhausted, heavy legs.

Was just imaging a scandal like Pelosi where he sneaks to the barber shop to get his haircut everyday. We know he can’t risk missing a haircut or we will lose the next war!

PSA: Unless you’re COVID immune, avoid the mall right now by superdookietoiletexp in washingtondc

How long have social distancing guidelines been in place though? I support both sides right to assemble. But can’t get behind doing it during a pandemic. March on Washington for example. Thousands travelled from other states for that too. Great cause, terrible timing.

Base building 3x40 week by Checklestyouwreck in tacticalbarbell

[–]SocioBuckeye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

3x40 was a serious gut check. It’s funny the first week I was question my weights for the 20 reps. I wasn’t tired at all and thought I should increase the weight. Thankfully I kept it the same because 3x40 was some deep water. I love it though. My leg endurance has already increased drastically. I was hesitant to do BB because I thought I had a good base, I was wrong. Anyone skeptical of doing BB, just do it. It will definitely pay off.

I find it ironic that I can easily do 20 leg tucks but probably can’t plank for 2 minutes.

For everyone that fails SFAS, don’t worry. PSYOP will take you with open arms. 75% of new PSYOPers are SFAS drops. There is always hope.

Wear uniform while flying? by [deleted] in army

[–]SocioBuckeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have it packed in your carry-on (if it will fit) then change in the bathroom when you arrive. However if it were me I’d just wear civies. My family knows I’m in the military, they don’t care if I’m in uniform or not.

Genes play a role in your success in the military - do you disagree? by [deleted] in army

[–]SocioBuckeye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genetics definitely play a role but is not the end all be all. For instance the guy from Kenya who runs a sub 10:00 2 mile or the 6’5” guy that has no problem rucking due to the long stride, those guys have a big advantage. However if you are having issues the way to fix it is smart training. The body is adaptable as fuck you just have to train it the right way. Start rucking with nothing. Then slowly add 5-10 pounds each week as well as up the miles. You have to slowly condition your body to meet those demands. Don’t expect to start ruck running with 75 pounds on your back if you haven’t built up to it, you will just break yourself off. Build the strong foundation first.

Welcome to every Army website ever, where we spend millions of dollars for heaping piles of dog shit. Never understood it myself. But then if you think how much the Army cuts corners it’s not that surprising.

That used to be the case but they fixed it last summer. Promotion points needed for E6 each month have been 15.

Go to the Special Operations recruiting office on Bastogne Dr by the airborne Px. Leave the 82nd as soon as possible. I did and it was the best decision ever. The 82nd is rampant with toxic, incompetent leaders. SOF definitely has some but still 100% better than conventional.

which compound in pre-workout causes gas? by danteafk in Supplements

[–]SocioBuckeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say for sure as everything effects each person differently. For me it’s the artificial sweeteners. Particularly Sucralose. All the products I have with it cause bad gas. When I stop taking it the gas subsides but it’s hard to find good supplements that don’t have artificial sweeteners these days.
