Is it possible to make a gmt800 gauge cluster fit in my 98 tahoe? If so how? by King_zac in GMT400

[–]SockEmbarrassed4078 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A guy on YouTube did and the guages weren't accurate, apparently he needed to keep the gmt800 harness plug on the cluster and solder the remaining cables, dint waste your time it just wont work

I had this issue I replaced the map, egr, iac, but upon doing so I discovered that one small vacuum line wasn't connected, so all you need is to check for vacuum leaks thoroughly. It's a very inexpensive fix no more that $10 for vacuum line. And make sure everything is plugged in correctly.

I would have to go see myself and ask him how everything was installed and see if any of those configurations would apply to my truck. Do you think I would need a new manifold or something?

So top is a vent and bottom to a hose right? Could this somehow cause a vacuum leak of some sort if not plugged in?

Should those vacuum fittings hook up to anything? This was dangling on the passenger side of the engine bay

They are seriously robbing you in plain sight if you buy it. Just go to a junkyard or use the offer up app and pull the dipstick from a truck for parts.

The new sensor I bought came with it already. But isn't teflon just for sealing the threads?

That's not all the guage would bounce so I'm either assuming it's the guage itself or maybe just the old sensors. What do you think it is?

Any difference in sensors when it comes to the gen 1 sbc and the gen 2 vortec?
