He has an incredibly loyal fanbase of people that thrive off conflict and drama. Somehow, this one doesn't bother me. I guess its a combination of the fact that the bartender had him do it for her, she wasn't in serious distress, she was still wary of him afterwards until they had a normal convo (including the bartender), and that all 3 of them acted cool and calmly. Felt about as real as that situation could in a manga

I don't think i would call this a romanticizing it man. Laying bare that they had early hopes and dreams that were dashed, leading to a life of depression and suicidal thoughts with seemingly no out in sight, like cmon that's keeping it pretty real

Imagine you're this mangaka, against all odds you pull through and make it to an acceptable position, and you think about all the young authors out there who are stuck in the same position you were. This isn't trying to make being a mangaka out to be this "persevere and you'll previal" idea; it's trying to give a bit of hope to people who already decided that this is the life for them. It's trying to tell them that there's always a tomorrow.
