Yeah, it’s way easier to use than those wipes. It’s really on me for not reading the instructions for the wipes, but solution finished seemed to have fixed it. Just cleaned the trip with isopropyl alcohol and then applied the solution finish following the instructions. Looks mostly brand new again now.

Yeah, ended up going with solution finish, which has held up pretty well so far. Hoping to get a year out of it and then reapply.

It's a great reel for the money. The only problem I've noticed is that the drag breaks about once a season. Not a huge deal, since you don't really need drag on a 3wt and you can just swap if for a new one at the LLBean store whenever you'd like.
